Spending my birthday in Disney! Oct 2010 PTR - UPDATED 10/11 TR STARTED

have you thought about staying onsite at universal for one night, that way you can get front of the line access?!

It's not worth it. I don't want to move everything just for one night and last year, they weren't allowing fotl access for Rip, Ride, and RockIt so I doubt they're doing it for Forbidden Journey. Plus those hotels are ridiculously expensive.

:rotfl: You youngin! Yes, they were big about the end of 1988-1991 or 92. You would've been way to young to remember. They had their faces on everything. Posters, jewelry, trading cards, tshirts, dollas, action figures, board games, boxers, bedsheets, comforters, watches. I had all of that stuff! In fact, I still use the comforter as my beach blanket! It's bright pink and has their pictures on it so it's really easy to spot! :lmao: They did the Super Bowl halftime show when it was still sponsored by Disney. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QwkNVmWANc Take a look if you want, it's hysterical to see the way they were dressed!!

The Rangers have something similar to what the Broncos had except it's a casino night and you're supposed to get dressed up! I can only imagine what some ladies wear to that though. :sad2: I haven't been lucky enough to get a ticket to that (very expensive!) but if I did I'd be hanging around the goalie all night. He's dreamy lol

I watched part of the video!! I love that kind of stuff from "back in the day". The little flower people and clown-y ones were kinda creepy. I liked the castle thing though!! haha! YAY!

You got super cute stuff from Aero. I may have to use that code you posted. I need new jeans!!

I'm so jealous that your going to WWoHP!! That'll be amazing!! Although...I'm a HUGE fan of Jurassic Park too. Like HUGE fan. AHHH I'm just so excited!!

I'll be stopping in an Aero sometime next week. I need new jeans too. I have a lot of jeans but wear only two pairs because I don't like the fit or length on the other ones I have!

I can't wait to go to IOA! It's one of my favorite parks!

Disney Day 5 - 10/8 Hollywood Studios

This is the other park we're going to be at for rope drop! I love the pre-show and we need to get to TSM asap because that is the most awesome ride in the world. I'm sure the guys will love it too because it's like a video game and they'll get to be competitive!

We have a lunch ADR at Sci Fi this day. Maybe it wasn't the wisest choice because it's only two to a row but no worries, I think everyone will enjoy it anyway.

Must Do
Toy Story Midway Mania - twice if we can swing it! I absolutely love this ride, it's so much fun and I heard they've added some characters from TS3, most notably Trixie. If I see that evil bear though....grrr. It's on! :rotfl2:
Tower of Terror - one of my favorite rides in all of WDW.
Rock n Rollercoaster - so much fun! I love the theming and the ride itself is awesome.
The Great Movie Ride - classic. Gotta do it when you go to DHS.
Muppet Vision - Cute, who doesn't love the muppets? (Though Beeker scares me a little  ) I've heard they've made improvements to this ride? I've always thought it was outdated.
Disney Animation Studios and Academy - last year I drew Eeyore and Mickey!
Indiana Jones Stunt Show - Kris loves Indy so I have to make sure we see it!

Do If Time
The Backlot Tour - I'm not a fan (still angry they took out the Golden Girls house!) but if other people wanna do it, who am I to say no?
Lights, Motor, Action - If you've seen it once, there's no need to see it again. If the guys wanna see it, sure.
One Man's Dream - Love walking through here and watching the little movie. I don't know if it will keep everyone's attention though. :confused3
American Idol - ok, let me tell you, I hate American Idol. Ryan Seacrest's voice makes me want to put my head through a wall. But my sister and Kris both love that stupid show so I'm sure we'll have to see it. Yay.

I would like to do Star Tours but I'm pretty sure they're going to be closed. I would really like to have dinner at Pizza Planet too. Anything Toy Story related = :thumbsup2 in my book. I'd also like to see Beauty and the Beast but I can't see the boys sitting through that one! Maybe we can strike a deal up between that and LMA. :rotfl2:

68 days to go! I can't believe it's almost August!

Sadly, Star Tours is supposed to still be closed for refurbishment. The boyfriend is sort of disappointed about this (since were going the same week) as he's a big Star Wars fan. I'm hoping TSM will be enough awesome to soothe the disappointment, though.

Also, ToT is probably my favorite ride in any park, ever.

Great DHS plans. BATB is amazing-- you have to make the boys compromise!! Honestly, my boyfriend really liked it (not that he'd admit it in public:rotfl:) and he's not a musical fan. It's just so well done-- I'm sure the whole group will like it.
Definitely have dinner at Pizza Planet--it's our favorite counter service in DHS! Great theming, good food.

I could have SWORN that I'd subbed to this...no wonder I was never seeing any updates! :headache:

Anyway, I've definitely subscribed now, so I'll go catch up and then be along for the ride!!

Day 5 sounds great! DHS is probably my least favorite park, but it has some of our favorite attractions (TSMM, ToT, RNRC). I just feel like there isn't a whole lot to do there. Madison loves Star Tours, but that will be closed on our Sept trip. We still need to take her on the Backlot Tour, Voyage of the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast.

I read that Star Tours is closed until mid to late October. I'm hoping it will re-open early but Disney is usually pretty dead on with their schedules. It was due for a refurb, that ride can hurt!

ToT is awesome. The theming can't be beat and the ride itself is so fun!

If the boys don't compromise, maybe me and my sister will see it and they can go see LMA. We've both seen that already anyway. So :snooty: to the boys!

Pizza Planet is super cute. And I love that you can get a Mickey head rice krispies treat for dessert!

I was wondering where you'd been! I saw you on other people's PTRs and TRs and was like 'Did Staci forget about me?' :guilty: j/k

I love ToT and TSM but DHS is not my favorite park either. It's a lot of shows and exhibits mostly. I went for rope drop to DHS last year and was done by 4. And I did most of the attractions and some of the shows, even watched Block Party Bash! :confused3 Still has more things to do than AK!

Hey Jenny!! Plans look great :) Sorry I was MIA for a while.

Haha--nope I didn't! I was so confused bc I was looking through all of the updated TRs and PTRs that I've subscribed to, and I never saw yours... :confused3

But I'm officially all caught up!! Great plans so far! :thumbsup2

First of all, we JUMPED on airfare when it was $250 per person rt. That's about as cheap as you're going to find it from Dallas to MCO. And if you actually want to fly out of OKC (which is way closer) add at least $100 to the price! I can't imagine living somewhere with such cheap airfare!

Your VB Hipster and your new shirts are SOO cute! They'll be perfect for Disney!

All of your individual park day plans sound great! I was gonna vote for Pizzafari at AK though. Michael and I LOVED this! I had the Italian sandwich, and it was amazing. It was a heated sub style sandwich. And Michael had the Pepperoni Pizza with a salad. We split both of them. It was one of our favorite CS restaurants.

Oh--and YAY for switching and getting free dining!! I feel like it's not Disney without TS restaurants! :upsidedow

:woohoo: for being call caught up!

I guess the airfare is less expensive around here because there are SO many airports. Within a 2 hour drive of here, there are 5 airports! They all need to compete with each other.

Thanks for the feedback on Pizzafari. I'll definitely make sure we're around that area when everyone gets hungry. I have a feeling everyone is gonna just flock toward whatever is closest when they're hungry. I may have to steer them in the right direction. ;) Like to Pizza Planet, Sunshine Seasons, Pecos Bill's, and Cosmic Ray's direction. :rotfl:

I can't wait to try Biergarten and Chef Mickey's! I've never been there before. And I was looking up the menus for Food & Wine. YUM!!!!!

So I think the trip is finally finalized. For the past couple months, other people wanted to go and then bailed or just never mentioned it again. It was getting to be a real headache! But now I think we have our group and it was the original group mentioned in the beginning of this PTR: me, Kris, my sister Kim, my cousin Adam, and my friend Alex. My sister's friend Liana was supposed to come with us and share the third room at Pop with my sister but she invited someone else without clearing it with my sis and...they had a little falling out. So now she's not going. So my sister will be rooming with Alex and Adam which she doesn't seem thrilled about (she's stayed at Pop before and she thinks the rooms are too small) but whatever. How much time do you really spend in the room anyway?

All of our dining reservations are for 6 because I thought Liana was coming but I don't think that will be a big deal. It's worse to show up and have an extra person in your party instead of one less person. I was going to change them but Ohana and Chef Mickey's don't show any availability so I really can't do anything about it. Like I said, I don't think it'll be a big deal.

So in other news, I cut my hair! LOL. It used to be a couple inches below my shoulders and now it's just above. It's longer in the front and angled to be shorter in the back. I love it! It's so much easier to deal with and it keeps me cooler! I'll probably get it trimmed again right before we go to FL.

I have a wedding to go to tomorrow. I love weddings so I'm really looking forward to it! It's a long time friend, I've known her since we were 17 and we used to be super close. We've lost touch over the years but we still see each other now and then so I was really excited when I got invited to the wedding. Should be a blast!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

64 days to go!

Ouch, that's unfortunate that your sister's friend bailed. I don't know why people would think they could just invite someone else without checking with the person who had invited them in the first place! You're right though-- the rooms maybe be small, but if you just use them to crash at night, the size doesn't matter!
Definitely don't think having one less person than on the ADR's will matter. They'll probably be relieved they have an extra seat to give to other parties!

I know! I can't believe she didn't even ask my sister first. She told me and I assumed she ran it by my sister already. Not the case! It was rude of her just to invite someone else without checking first, especially since my sister and I don't even know the person. It's one thing if it was a boyfriend/husband but it was just some friend of hers.

I was able to change my Biergarten and Sci Fi ADRs to five people. Ohana and Chef Mickey's are just staying as is. I'm sure it won't be a problem!

How can you be 64 days away and I'm 79? So not fair!!!

Have fun at the wedding! I haven't been to one in ages!

At least you've got your travel group down pat! I definitely wouldn't worry about changing your reservations for Ohana and Chef Mickey's since there's no availability..

Post pictures of the new hair!! I bet it looks great!

I hope you have a blast at the wedding-- it's always fun to see an old friend get married.

And oh my goodness, 64 days!! I can't believe it! Hooray!

I hate it when people won't commit--and they leave you guessing til the last minute! :headache: But at least you have your group all figured out! And then if another person decides to join you, you already have them on the ADR!

Post a pic of your haircut! I bet it's super cute. Have fun at the wedding!!
