Spending my birthday in Disney! Oct 2010 PTR - UPDATED 10/11 TR STARTED

I've done online check-in twice now. Both times I checked in prior to 10am and both times I had a room ready.

Awesome, thanks! Do they give you the pins and everything if you noted a celebration on the reservation?

That means tomorrow you get to do the SINGLE DIGIT DANCE!!! :woohoo:

Yay for online check-in! I tried to do it last year and the site was down every time I tried. It was annoying! Hopefully it will be functioning this time!

I'm only working 11 days in October! :rotfl2: :cloud9:

I hear ya on the plane thing...I can't wait either! I look at the planes flying overhead and think "in ___ days, that will be me!"

Yes! Stay tuned tomorrow for the single digit dance post! :)

The site worked no problem for me. They just launched it last year, right? Maybe that's why it was giving you problems. :confused3

I'm gonna be sooooooo excited once we're in that plane, about to take off. I mean, I'm alraedy excited but I'll be that much more excited!

Woohoo for barely working in October!

I haven't done the online check in but it sounds like a good idea! How does it work? We arrive the 22nd...

Can't wait to see the LOFT pictures! I love the LOFT!

:dancer: OFF! :dancer: That certainly is the best word to see on your schedule!!

I'm so excited for you!! I can't believe it's almost October and that your trip is almost here! These months flew by!

This whole YEAR has flown by! I can't believe it'll be 2011 in a few months.

The online checkin is simple. You can use it within 10 days of your arrival date. You give them your information (address, phone number, credit card if you want to use your KTTW for charges) and double check any requests you made. They'll email you a confirmation and you can proceed to the online check-in desk at the hotel and they'll give you a packet with all of your stuff. I guess they're trying to reduce wait times in the lobby. I just did it because clients ask about it so this way I can have firsthand knowledge about it.

It's so close!!

9 more days to go! I can't believe it!

My shirts from LOFT came in yesterday. I love them both, especially the tank top. They're super comfy and soft and lightweight. Perfect for Florida weather!

I'm wearing the aqua color shirt with chocolate brown shorts and the other top with black shorts.

I talked to everybody last night and everyone seems interested in Halloween Horror Nights. It was my cousin's idea, he really wants to go so I think we're going to, as long as there are tickets left when we get there. I found out Tango and Steve from Ghosthunters are gonna be there that night signing autographs. I love that show and they are my favorites. I have a bit of a crush on Tango. Shhhh.....:rolleyes1 He's from Jersey! Woo! ;)

This is totally off topic but did anyone read the Sweet Valley High series when they were younger? (Rora, I KNOW you did!) I've been reading this blog (1BRUCE1) that recaps the books with their own snarky commentary. It's hilarious. I used to love those books but they were really ridiculous. They were targets for murder too many times to count, all in their 16th year! Anyway, I've been reading it because I found out a new book is coming out in March, Sweet Valley Confidential which will follow the twins when they're in their late 20s. I honestly can't wait to read it lol. AND they're making an SVH movie! I'm such a dork for being excited about this. :rotfl:

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

We did get our pins from the person handling online check-in; if they don't hand them to you right away, I would just mention which pins you need and they should give them to you without much hassle.

Halloween Horror Nights is AWESOME. We had such a great time when I was there last year. Definitely go see the Bill & Ted stage show, and plan out which haunted houses you really want to see, because the lines take forever.

Did you watch Ghost Hunters Academy with Steve and Tango? A friend of mine was one of the people on the show. It was fun/crazy watching her on TV.

Oh, and...

YAY FOR SINGLE DIGITS!!!

Oh, and...

YAY FOR SINGLE DIGITS!!!

Ok great. I made note that it was my birthday on my reservation and that it was Alex and Adam's first visit on theirs so I want pins! :)

I heard that the lines for the haunted houses can take awhile. Are the lines for the rides long too? I know a few are open and they're the best rides in the park so I want to make sure everyone gets on those too. I read about the Bill & Ted show. That is what also sold me on HHN. I love Bill & Ted! (Notice I'm going for all the not scary parts of it  )

Yes, I did watch that! Which person was your friend? I would love to do something like that because I'm so interested in the paranormal but...I would probably freak if I saw something and run, screaming in the opposite direction. :rotfl:

Yeah for single digits!!!

Not long now and we will both be basking in the Florida sunshine and breathing in Disney air!!!

My friend was Heathyr, the one who was kicked off first. She's awesome. We met at a performing arts camp when we were in middle school, and decided to be roommates the next year we both went. Then she moved to the other side of the country, but we've kept in touch pretty consistently since.

I don't remember the lines for the rides being too long last year, but we also didn't try to go on many rides. The first night of HHN should be coming up soon, and I'm curious to hear what rides will be open this year. There are also plenty of areas in the park where they have different "scenes" that you just walk through. We enjoyed them much more than the houses we went in, to be honest.

That's awesome she made it on the show!

It says on the map of HHN that MIB, Simpsons, Jaws, and the Mummy are all open. Those are pretty much the best rides in the park. I think RRR is broken at the moment, otherwise I'm sure that would be open too. I'm sure we'll do a couple haunted houses but I want to make sure everyone gets to see the park as well and experience the rides as well as HHN.

So Kris and I went to Target, Best Buy, and Home Depot yesterday and I picked up a few things for the trip. The loot from Target:

SAM_0039.jpg

The memory card at the bottom I picked up at Best Buy. I wanted an SD card for my phone too but it's not a neccessity right now. I just got the phone and there's plenty of space on the internal memory to get me through the Disney trip. :)

I love the little travel kit I got. It was $6 and it has herbal essence shampoo and conditioner, deodorant, body lotion, toothpase, a comb, toothbrush, quart size bag (that I'll probably use for my makeup), and that little carrying case. Everything else there is travel size except the sunblock (which Kris said he wasn't going to use, he's going to burn! :sad2: ) I got mouthwash, a loofah thingy, advil, hand sanitizer, colgate wisps 4 pack (i love those things!), hairspray, and body wash.

And at Home Depot, I picked up these little guys!

SAM_0036.jpg

The one I wrote my DIS name on I'm going to make a keychain out of and put it on my VB bag. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the other ones. Maybe put them in the window of our room. Any ideas?

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! Besides shopping yesterday, I worked til 3 and then Kris & I had dinner at Friday's and saw the new Resident Evil movie. Today I'm just doing laundry and relaxing. I'm psyched cause the Rangers started their pre-season games and there's one on tonight so I'll probably end up watching that (I'm a hockey girl) as well as the Simpsons. Guest stars are the Glee gang! :)

8 more days! I will be doing one week from today posts so look for those starting tomorrow :goodvibes

Nice loot!

If you hang your LGMHs from your backpack you might think about putting them back to back so they can be seen no matter what side is showing. I cut mine out and laminated them so its just the mickey head. I have mine hanging from my backpack. I'll be on the lookout for you, you keep a lookout for me. It would be so fun to run into you for an impromptu DIS meet.

Putting them back to back is a good idea, I didn't think of that. Thanks! I'm definitely going to remove them from the backing so it's just the Mickey head. I'll keep an eye out for you! I love DIS meets!

Hooray for single digits!!

We are HUGE Ghost Hunter's fans and every single year they come to CT for book signings and seminars, we miss them (usually because we're in WDW). Then I saw that they were going to be in Orlando...2 weeks before us! We just can't win! I'm so bummed out! I want to meet them so bad! (and ...Steve & Tango....ummm yes please! :) )

ETA:

And yes, I read SVH books but I don't remember much about them...I'll definitely look into the SVC series though!

I had no idea they were even going to be there. When my cousin mentioned HHN, I went to the webpage and their picture was at the bottom. "October 7th, that's the day we're going!" I screamed like a little girl. :rotfl: I loooooove me some Steve and Tango! If I get near them, I'll be sure to take lots of pictures for you!

It's funny because my sister's BF Rob was at a wedding recently and the groom is actually friends with Steve. So when Rob saw Steve at the reception, he totally took a stalker pic with his cell phone and sent it to me! And you can tell that Steve totally knew he was being cell phone stalked! :rotfl2:
