Average is very subjective. DH and I around that age. We vary what we spend. Some trips to Orlando we have spent $500 on shopping between us, other times $50.He's best off considering what he would want to buy and then taking an appropriate sum. What is your daughter bringing? That would be a sensible place to start.

Trainers - anything from $30 to $100 at outlets
Jeans - anything from $20 to $100 at outlets
T-Shirts - anything from $10-40 at outlets

I'd probably encourage him to take $200 for shopping. That should get him a couple of higher priced items or more "bargains". Or, just do what we do - take a (fee-free) credit card, spend sensibly, pay it off immediately.

Does he not have to buy any food or drinks or pay for any meal tips? If that's the case I'd say $400. That's about what my teenagers spend in the outlets and they also have nothing else to pay for.

His wonderful mother in law is paying for most things .So basically just spending money .So I was thinking about £500 .That I think should cover .Better too much .But I didn't think of Credit card if not pre paid perhaps take one out before he goes and pay it off when he gets back .Thanks for the input:love:

His mum is subbing him at 30?? I want to know if his mum wants to adopt a 44 year old?

Are you staying on disney property? If so you can charge to your room and pay it off as you go, once you hit $500 they take the payment from the card you secured on it. If you purchase on a normal credit card, English, you will incur cross currency charges each time you use it with a pre paid you don't.

Unless you have a few fre credit card. I think both Halifax and the Post Office offer them. No currency charges, great exchange rates.

We're a party of 5 - two adults (mid to late 20's and three kids) and we've budgeted $150 a day - split three ways, thats $30 a day per person (though really, it works out about $40-50 per adult per day).

So, in total, over three weeks each adult has about $600-1000.

Not his mum even better his mother in law . We'd already booked the house and the car for 3 of us .So when my daughter said her and her husband wanted to come .I just said pay for his flights and theme park tickets .I expect he'll pay for some meals out and bits and pieces .But yeh I do agree I'm probably doing too much .But his own parents weren't great so I've tended to take over from them

Good for you!

Point him in the direction of Quidco or Topcashback and from there sign up to a Post Office credit card, best exchange rates, no charges (unless for cash of course) and £40 cashback for signing up.

I usually only use mine when in the US or for paying for tickets before we go.

He's 30!!!!

My parents were still around for me when I was a lot older than 30 and as his parents haven't been around for him since he was 15 I've tended to be there .But although I'm not rolling in money I'm not hard up and I'd rather see my daughter and her other half benefiting than be the richest person in the grave yard :cheer2:

Thanks for that I know it sounds like I'm a soft touch .But he's never been before and I certainly won't be buying him things .But house and car paid for before they decided to come .Will look into Quidco and topcashback seems well worth it:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

When my mum died my dad stated sharing out what money he had left at the end of the year between his kids and grand kids. His philosophy, I don't need it and I'd rather give it now and watch you enjoy it than leave it even I'm gone. We always make a point of buying something special with it so we can say we bought that with grandads money. Nothing wrong with giving living memories to adult children if it creates happy times together.
