Hi Guys

I know this has probably been discussed loads before, but im getting really confuzzled!!

Im a family of 3, my, my hubby & son who's 2. and were going for 3 weeks.

We are staying in a villa, will stock up with food, and will prob have breakfast at villa before we leave. We'll also sometimes take packed lunches into the theme parks as I know eating within disney/universal can be pricey. Obviosuly we will eat onsite some times. And for dinners we'll prob go places like Ponderosa, Dennys etc. As were going with my dad, his wife and her 2 kids (11 & 15).

I dont want to be stingy on holiday, this is my 7th time, but my sons first (so excited for him!) and my dads wife and her 2 kids first time. So we all want to enjoy ourselves to the max. IF I want to buy something, then ill buy it.

I had in my head $100 a day?? But now im thinking its not enough! I like to set aside a certain amount each day, then carry over what was left to the next day. So then when we goto the malls I can have a spend up!!!

My other q is regarding my 2yr old son and eating. Im sure ive heard children under 3 eat free? Is this right? Could someone speak to me about this pease? So say I went to Ponderosa and ordered him a childrens meal-we wouldnt pay for this? Would I need to bring his ID to prove he's only 2 (As hes very tall and does look older!)

Thanks in advance for your replies! :dance3:

we went last month staying onsite and had free dining and took $1500 for 2 adults

we spent it all but mostly on shopping for baby stuff and the odd trip to walmart as all our food was covered by disney

We normally budget for $200 as a couple and on many days we do not reach that amount, but it depends on whether you plan on spending a lot in the Malls

Last trip was DDP so hardly spent anything ($20 in 16 nights) on food, just tips.

Usually we eat no breakfast, lunch in parks & offsite evening meal, we are family of 3 (adults) lunch is around $30, evening meal varies between $25 (sweet Tomatoes with voucher) upto about $70 if we eat at somewhere like Trails End. Average over the holiday incl tips $100/day. For 2 adults and a 2 year old you should be fine.

Personally I don't like taking food into parks, not a massive saving and in the heat they are not great for eating after a few hours. Just take crisps and sweets in with us from Publix, lunch buy in parks

Lots of places do free food for upto 4th birthday. http://www.ponderosaorlando.com/pages/Menu-06.html
There is a card you can buy for about £10, gives free meals for children but doubt you need it for a child so young.
