We will be spending Christmas at Disney this year. We have been to Disney numerous times, but never spent the Holidays there. My husband has been talking about doing this for years and the opportunity has come up this year to be able to make this dream come true, so we decided to go for it.

We will be at ASMo 12/13-12/27, really hoping we'll be able to get FD and we'll pay to upgrade to the regular Dining Plan. We've made our resort reservation and all of our ADRs...now the wait and countdown begins:cool1: It'll be my husband, myself and two children, ages 6 and 9.

We absolutely love Disney:love: We are so excited to see what Christmas is like in the World! We are not going into this blindly...we know all about the busy crowds at Christmas. I'm planning on doing most of our park days early on in our trip. That way around Christmas when the crowds are getting larger, we can leisurely enjoy the resorts, restaurants, atmosphere and soak in all the Christmas magic without feeling like we have so little time and so much to do. We can't wait to see all the parks decorated and we'll be doing some resort hoping to check out the Christmas decorations.

So, I thought it would be great to start a thread for anyone to join who will be spending Christmas in the World with us this year!!! It would be perfect if those of you who've done this before could tell us about your past Christmas experiences, give us pointers, tips, etc. I'm hoping that this could be a place for us new to Christmas in the World to ask questions, get advice etc.

So, who else will be spending Christmas with us at Disney this year???:cheer2:

We'll be there! First time for us during the holidays, too. We're booked 12/23 - 12/30. Yes, I know the crowds will be insane, and I don't plan on be able to get on a single ride. :lmao: That's why we're going in August too. ;) This is simply a "take in the Christmas magic trip." We're staying at AoA in a Little Mermaid room with Dining.
I was shocked when I was able to book all of my ADR's this morning! I had back up plans for my back up plans and didn't need any of them. Got everything I wanted, including breakfast in Cindy's castle Christmas morning (and then I'm out of there lol), lunch at Le Cellier later in the week, and a Mama Melrose Fantasmic Package that I previously couldn't get for late August! Weird!

YAY...someone else spending Christmas with us in the World:cheer2: I was beginning to wonder if we would have Disney all to ourselves?:rotfl: Yes, I agree with you about the ease of getting ADRs...it was such a breeze and totally unexpected. I even cancelled a bunch of them and made new reservations with no problems. We considered staying at AoA (love the look of the resort), in the LM section (sadly NOT a fan of the LM rooms), but since we are staying two weeks, we have to calculate every dollar and AoA was a couple hundred dollars more expensive than AsMo. Also, I am not a huge fan of the foodcourt menu at AoA :( We are having our Christmas morning breakfast at Cape May Cafe and then I'm not sure if we'll head to a park or not. Definitely not MK though, but we will be at MK Christmas Eve, eating dinner at Crystal Palace. We may or may not do a park on Christmas Day...maybe DHS?

I'm hoping some more people will join on us this thread:banana:

Ill be there as a cp but some close friends to the family are going for christmas and im helping them book, it'll be their first time at Disney for the holidays and for the sons wife it will be her first trip! :woohoo:

We will be spending Christmas at WDW. Our dates are 12/18 thru 12/27. We will be staying offsite (Bonnet Creek). Party includes my dad and stepmother who have never been to WDW, in addition to my 19 year old daughter and me. Our (daughter's and mine) last visit to WDW was in 2008. We've been to Orlando in the intervening years but (oh the horror) we preferred to visit only Universal/IOA.:goodvibes

I have had no problems making dining reservations, including the Candlelight Processional package on 12/24. Planning meals so far in advance is not my style but given the crowds at Christmas, I thought it best not to wing it.

Hi:santa: I have made all of my ADRs as well, changing some around and I have had absolutely no problems making ADRs. In my opinion I'm wondering what this means for the amount of bookings that Disney has for Christmas at this time:confused3

I hope your famlily has a magical Christmas vacation:santa:

We'll be there too! It looks like the weather is going to be cooler so I'm just packing pants. Are you guys decorating your rooms??
