Ok, so there's been a few topics lately about things that annoy you, and spelling is always high up on the list.

It's highly amusing to see when a teacher is making a topic about school/work and has more spelling errors than most posts. It's also more amusing to see a school district make national news for a spelling error.

OOOPS! I bet somebody at the marketing firm is in deep, deep ....trouble.

There was one at an aquarium I visited this weekend. "This area once teamed with wildlife." I believe they meant "teemed"??

Found a Disney one recently. It was on the advanced digital copy of the Disneyland 2010 half marathon brochure. In the ad for the Princess half marathon, the tag line said "Fairtales do come true." Needless to say, the actual hard copy that were handed out at the expo were corrected and did say "fairytales."

Amazing given that almost everything is written on a computer with spell check and grammar check.

My DD is in college, and one Professor had to tell the students after a test that he marked them down for using texting abbreviations in their tests.

It went through 4 people on the marketing team prior to being put up, and it took them 5 days to realize it and take it down.

Spell check works, when a word is spelled wrong. Not when taking a letter out can create a different word. As well, grammar check doesn't work because it's short phrases.
