The American English version is definitely "spelled." Perhaps the British version would be spelt?

Spelt - you live near the PA Dutch to your north? The correct spelling is spelled.

I would definitely say Spelled. I've never even heard of SPELT.

My friend always uses "spelt." Drives me nuts. I'm a typo nazi....I always call her on it, lol.

I looked it up - either is acceptable. Spelled is the most common American usage. Spelt is the British version. I spelled it "spelled" in my email to my son's teacher - who can't spell our last name - not a tough one - she doubles a letter that should be - another family in the school has a similar last name - only the doubled letter and the last letter are different.

Thanks
