Not sure if this has been covered, but our family is heading back to WDW in November and thankfully we are at the Poly this time. By thankfully I mean that on our last trip we stood at the Coronado and we needed to bus mostly everywhere. One of our bus trips turned out to be more of a thrill ride than some of the Disney attractions itself.
I don't remeber exactly where we were going,(MGM I think), thew bus driver was FLYING, I mean speeding like crazy :scared1: (I drive in N.Y.C., so I'm not exagerating), and going into a turn, slowed up minimally at best. It wasn't just me, because I saw the looks on others faces including my wife. I was in the middle of the bus so I didn't really want to shout(not that I would have been heard over the screaming children).
When we got to our destination:jumping1: I went to make a complaint and explained to the manager what happened. She thanked me and said they would look into it.
I'm not sure how pressed for time these bus drivers are, but in know whay should the passengers safety be compromised for saving time if that is the case.Again, I know some people think I may be exagerating, but I am not.

Haas anyone else had a similiar bus experinece or is it just a one time thing that I happened to be in?

TIA pirate:

Only one time did we have a driver that was flying and made me feel unsafe. We were headed back to POFQ and the bus was back like sardines. He was flying and with all the weight, I thought for sure we were going to tip over.

We had a speed demon bus driver on our last trip this past May.
We were the only passengers and he was flying!:drive:
It made me wonder how often accidents with WDW buses happen.

We didn't really have a problem with speeding but we had one lady who must have been driving with two feet. She would give it a burst of gas and then jam her foot on the brake. This was at 7am and we were heading to MK from POP so a lengthy drive!! By the time the bus arrived there were people who seriosuly not looking so hot!! Other than that it was great!

We had a VERY scary ride this last April. It was pouring rain and I am sure our driver was doing at least 50mph. Then he hits the brakes and they must have stuck or something. People went flying. Thankfully I was in a seat with my boys, but a few people fell down that were standing. He slowed down after that, but a few of us reported his name.

Making a report was a good idea.

Maybe there are some drivers who would rather be driving a roller coaster and giving you thrills as opposed to driving just a mundane bus. Then, what rides (I don't know of any) both give thrills and have a driver on board as opposed to the CM's just being on the platform pushing a button on a console to "drive" the ride?

Believe you me, your not the only one who has experienced this (Sadly).
It was our last trip March '07. we were leaving Epcot going back to ASMovies. Bus was PACKED!! and the driver was a mad nut. I really thought we were going to tip, didn't slow down on turns, when there was an amber light he sped up!! everyone was looking at eachother:eek: I don't know why we didn't say anything  it was very very dangerous!

We had one this past June, I believe on the way to MK. Those curves on that 2 lane road were crazy. It did feel like the bus would tip over. Maybe the bus driver thought he was part of Test Track!

We just got back from our 1st and last stay at Saratoga Springs. My kids and I sat at the Paddock bus stop for about 35 minutes waiting for the Hollywood Studios bus to come and after seeing every other park bus atleast 3 times our Hollywood Studios bus came and sped right past us going about 40 miles per hour without even braking. I could not believe that he would not stop plus we couldn't believe how fast he was going. I was so mad and I complained but the bus was going so fast I didn't get the numbers on the back of the bus. You have no idea how mad we were. Maybe some of these bus drivers should find a different line of work if they are soo unhappy.

In four trips, we have never had a speeding driver or one that made us feel unsafe. We did have one, however, that got lost and ended up off property.

A speeding bus driver? At Disney World? I can honestly say I have never encountered one. In fact, whenever we are driving around, I joke with my husband that he seems to always get behind a Disney bus and then we slow down so much. I think Disney bus drivers are the slowest people in the world. My husband always does the speed limit and we are poking along behind Disney buses under the limit.

I wish I could get a fast driver.

1) I have to wonder how much "speeding" is real versus perception.
2) Drivers can be fired for speeding and even for getting a ticket.
3) Don't forget
. . . it is hard to determine true speed while riding a bus
. . . some have bad suspensions, so swaying can cause a sense of speed
. . . drivers can't always go easy on touchy brakes

NOTE: As far as buses passing you by, if the bus is full and no one is getting off, they sometimes do pass by the bus stop. Yes, it is aggravating, but that's life.

are you sure you didn't wonder into the line for Disney's newest Attraction Run-away Tokyo Subway car?
