Just a heads up to anyone driving to disney using I-95 through Delaware.

The Delaware police are actively enforcing the speed limit on major highways, and ticketing agressive drivers, effective now and lasting through December, I believe. My travels take me onto I-95 near the Delaware/Maryland line, around rush hours, and I have seen many, many drivers being ticketed.

I hope this information will be helpful. Drive safely!

So now, not only do they hit you with the tolls for the 11 miles you are in Delaware, they are also setting up speed traps.

Yay!!

First I never thought Delaware even had troopers.....

But I have seen them at that maintenance area just north of the rest area and on that Wilmington bypass on the north side of it.

Be glad it's not like Sandusky County, Ohio...at least it sounds like they are targeting real speeders. In Sandusky County, I got pulled over for going 85, even though my husband and I both knew I was not going over the limit and therefore nowhere near that number! I even asked to see the radar gun...they probably zapped someone at the beginning of the day and then just showed it to everyone they nailed with out of state plates later. The irony was, the car I was driving (an ancient Hyundai Excel) would have shaken apart if I even went as high as 60, let alone 85. I later learned on the internet that it's a notorious speed trap...they know out-of-staters will not be there to fight the ticket.

Yes, there are being very aggessive. Apparently they fined over 120 the first month and over 200 last month. (A bunch of friends and I were discussing it last night and one of them read the report in the newspaper.)
Also, these are not little fines if you're caught. Watch out for some of the construction on 95--both directions--right by the baseball stadium. People don't seem to understand what merge right really means until they run into the cones! I think hopping on 495 around the city is the best option, especially around rush hours.
