I enjoy Thunder mountain, and have never been on 7DMT. Looking at making FP for our trip in February with 4 year old. She enjoys slow-going kiddie roller coasters (think Santa's village as highest speed experienced), but will these be too fast for her? I definitely will book Splash mountain.
Thanks!

Just get a FP+ and make your kid go on it.

There are some fast parts and some really slow parts.

No big drops, or loops. If I gave my 4 year old the choice she wouldn't have went on anything. Once she went on, especially 7 dwarfs and Splash, she wanted to go again and again and again.

My 4 year old also did Tower of Terror and if she was tall enough I would have had her on Space Mountain and Expedition Everest.

You kid will like it, just get them on it. I would also suggest booking a FP+ for it every day you hit MK. The FP go quickly and after riding it once if she hates it you can always cancel the other FP and pick something else. However if you don't have a FP for it and she loves it and wants to ride it again prepare to wait 60+ minutes in stand-by

FYI

Splash is more "thrilling" than 7 dwarfs

Do 7DMT. It's cute, short, alternates fast and slow parts, and is mild as coasters go. I'm kind of a coaster wimp and I love it. If she likes that, then you can try BTMRR - which is notably faster and longer.

Talk it up, and get her to try it!

When DS was 5, I took him on EE () - He was excited to try it (and is very tall)

Now, he didn't really like it, and we didn't do it again, but NOW, he is pleased he has done it, and wants to try it again.

If the fastest she's ever experienced is a Santas Villiage type, then there's no way to know for sure if she'd like 7DMT or BTMRR. Is she a thrill seeker in general? Both of those coasters are tame as coasters go, but they're much faster than Santas Villiage. I agree 7DMT would be a better starting spot. It alternates slow and "fast", with some things a 4 year old would enjoy thrown in. It's also smoother. BTMRR can throw you around a good bit. You won't know until you try, but I'd start at 7DMT and go from there.

7DMT is going to be fun for her. It's a kiddie ride. For BTMRR, I would suggest you get in first. It's been my experience that the person who gets in first, gets smashed. The first time I rode it with my DD when she little, I let her get in first & spent the whole ride hanging on to her & bracing myself not to slide into her. She loved the ride, she was 5 att. After that I got in the ride first, held on to her, & let her smash me. Now she's 13yrs old & bigger than me, so I make her get in first, Lol. Oh & try to sit more to the front of the train if you can. The further in the back you go, the rougher the ride.

Maybe start with the Barnstormer and see how that goes?? My 4 1/2 year old twin girls loved both the 7DMN and TMR. We had to ride both many times. I would definitely let your little one ride both.

Get a FP+ for 7 Dwarfs.

Walk in the FP line and you'll end up inside a covered section before you have to stop walking and scan your FP again. Inside she can't see or hear much of the ride. She won't have a clue what's going to happen on the ride. Once she's in the seat she can't get out and will have to ride the ride.

It's a Disney ride with a height requirement of 38", that should give you a good idea how "wild" it is.

Make her go once. It's the big new ride there. You'll regret not going on it. Once you finish on it' you'll wonder why you made such a big deal about going on it.

I agree with the above posters to start on 7DMT before BTMRR, it is much smoother and with the individual lap bars and seat design, you don't spend the whole ride trying not to smash your small child. I think 7DMT is smoother than Barnstormer. It is longer but less jerky. So I think 7DMT is the perfect first try at a coaster.
If she ends up hating it, change your other coaster FP to other things. If she loves it, try the others.

On BTMM, a seat towards the front feels slower than the back
I think 7DMT is the same way, but I haven't had an exact front or back car.

Have here watch the videos, and let her make her own decision. If you "trick" her into going, she may resent it and refuse to do any coasters later. I would definitely try Barnstormer and then possibly 7DMT. You can always try Thunder Mountain later or on another trip. You might not have a long wait for Thunder in February or you might be able to get a same day FP+ for it. I don't think Barnstormer needs an FP+. 7DMT pretty much needs an advanced FP+. I used to be a coaster chicken, but I have slowly acclimated myself to be able to ride Everest and Rock n Roller Coaster. I would have never gotten to this point if people had deceived me about previous coasters.

I would say yes to 7DMT and maybe not for BTMR. My kids loved 7D and were the screaming crying kids on BTMR at ages 6&4. All kids are different of course. My 4 year old LOVED Santa's Village coaster last summer and was screaming crying in the same coaster this summer. Kids dispositions also change at age 4-5 as they get more sense of fear.

I agree with others who said get a FP for 7D and try Barnstormer first and see how she does before trying BTMR. I am going back in Nov and both kids (now 7 and almost 5) have said they will not go on BTMR so introducing it too soon definitely backfired on us.

I agree with the previous posters, start with Barnstormer and then SDMT. My son is pretty tall and rode SDMT when he was two and loved it (still his favorite at 4yo). He did not enjoy BTMRR last year, it wasn't the speed, he didn't care for the choppiness of it. It was closed this past week so not an issue but he probably would have sat that one out this year.
