Oh, I would totally be upset if I was an owner!!!! I hope the SSR owners speak up about this.If I were an SSR owner, this would be upsetting.

....I just wanted to add the offer at the DVC Travel Show in NY:
Additional incentives
For 100 point add-ons - in addition to above price credits you get a 3 night stay in the treehouse villas, with first choice of reservations before reservations open to SSR members or other DVC members.
There are more shows planned in many cities, right? What if they offer these same terms at each of these cities?Just remember this event is in Rochester NY not NYC. There are 5 shows for members. So there won't be too many sold.
Do we know if there are any restrictions on the reservation? There usually are!

Can you tell me where the other shows will be, please?
Also, were Developer points included, or were rgese special incentives offered instead of the extra points?
I went to the show yesterday, right now there are not any other shows planned but I believe that this is the start of a few.
The special incentives took the place of develper points. So, no develper points for an add-on.
this is not going to go over well with SSR owners . . .
I don't see it as being a huge deal.
I'll be surprised if this offer is completely devoid of terms and conditions. In all likelihood, there will be a small block of rooms set aside for each night, and reservations will be first-come, first-served. In other words, DVC may designate 5 villas per night (or some other figure) available for booking under this offer...not all 60. That would be similar to how they handle the rooms turned over to CRO.
The reality is that DVC will still have some ownership in the treehouses when they open, so they can do as they wish with that inventory. Same will happen with Kidani next spring and perhaps BLT.
And even if they do open it up to all, I doubt it will be of a terrible inconvenience to members. If they allow buyers to book up to 11 months out, it represents an inventory of nearly 20,000 available nights (11 mos x 30 days x 60 villas = 19800.) Even if they sell 500 add-ons under these terms, that's only 1500 nights in a treehouse or 8% of all available rooms.
Other events may follow, but there won't be many before SSR owners can begin booking in February. They would be hard-pressed to schedule another event like this in December (busy holiday season, Member Mixers already scheduled for WDW) which leaves only January as a realistic possibility.
And above all, this is a one-time offer. Once they start taking reservations in February, this "book before owners" thing is off the table. SSR owners survived for 5 years without any treehouses--I think they'll make it another year with limited availability.![]()
I bought 250 BLT points when they first went on sale and recently called Disney to complain about the recent developer point incentive and they gave me matching developer points without much of a fight.

Yea I'd like to know how you pulled this off too. I called my guide yesterday and asked and I was very kind and professional but I told him that I had been reading posts like yours and he said that he had tried for others and hadn't had any luck. I told him to try anyway and that I wasn't very happy that others were getting this offering and that the didn't think he could get it for me, Again; professional but firm. I bought on day two (only because my guide didn't return my call the first day).
If there's a hoop I can jump through, I want to know what it is. Points is points. LOL
Please enlighten me.
Thanks!
This is the one reason why I didn't buy points as soon as BLT went on sale. What's the saying "Those who don't remember history are comdemned to repeat it."
Saw these same threads about AKV. I don't really need the points now, I can afford to wait and be patient. I don't think BLT is going to sell out anytime soon. Plus I'm waiting to see if we get one of those DVC roadshows with the killer incentives showing up within 100 miles of me.![]()
Excellent points tj, your posts are always informative![]()
Just imagining that a SSR owner who doesn't get THV reservation they may want could be upset thinking it's a result of this incentiveI'm not criticizing SSR owners who may feel that way (hopefully there will be none or as you say very few); right now all our points are at OKW & if this incentive pertained to GVs & I tried to book one but couldn't the thought would cross my mind.
