Spectrum Moms Take on The World! Our Last Day...Multiple Posts!

...cause my home is at Disney w/ my family and friends :goodvibes

so what does this one Spectrum Mom do the day after a Disney trip....

besides thinking about when do I get to go back

slept in (yes that is right...my amazing hubby gave me some extra sleep this morning and got the twins off to school for me) I got up a little before 8 am and am still in my pjs at almost 2 pm...

I almost unpacked everthing, have stuff sorted into piles to finish putting away. Gave souvies to my younger girls and got Rachel off to school on a chilly Chicago suburb morning...she asked all about the trip, who I was w/, where did we go, did I see Mickey, did the ladies like the scarves (you'll hear and see more about them)...

then I chilled out on the couch w/ Namoi-Ruth, she watch MMCH and I dozed

looked through our awesome Photopass pixs and added borders

and dealt w/ some reality stuff...but overall this is my vacation rest day...

it was an amazing trip w/ some equally amazing women. I was inspired, I felt encouraged, I laughed a ton and probably pee'd more :lmao:

we did the hokey pokey, went backstage (oh yes!)...screamed on EE, were swarmed by Brazilions and got hugged by Mickey...it was full of grey goosies, fireworks, magical moments to and by us...and 1 crazy phone call but overall a trip I will truly never forget....stay tuned for all the crazy wonderful details!

thank you number 1! and thank you numbers 2, 3, 4, 6, & 7!

Welcome back, ladies!

I am sure that it is hard to be back to real life, but I can't wait to read all about your adventures. Sounds like you had a wonderful time!

Today was back to reality. :sad2:

My kids were in bed when I got home last night but I got a lot of hugs and kisses this morning. Daniel even decided he'd rather have lunch from home rather than school. Passed out their souvies and sent them out the door to school. Sooooo wanted to curl up and relax but unfortunately had to go to work. :sad1: Started coming down with a cold at the end of the trip and it is no better today. It's going to be an early night.

Can't wait to look through all the pics and relive the amazing memories. It was a FABULOUS weekend. :lovestruc

Ugh, I was hoping you wouldn't get hit too hard with that cold! Sending pixie dust and (virtual) chicken soup!

Well, I'm stumped!

I've been searching all over the Boards for a DIS lurker named Disney Nutsy and I simply cannot find him! :headache: I wanted to send you a shout-out.... I met your wife, Joanne, on the flight home from Orlando. She was staying at Kidani Village and said you told her to keep her eyes open for the Spectrum Moms! :wave2:

If you do happen to stop by, please de-lurk and say Hello!

Kathy

I googled and found a DisneyNutzy on the boards? So maybe thats how they spell it?

Hi Kathy & Spectrum Moms,

Spectrum Dad here. My wife mentioned meeting you on the trip home. I had showed her the pre trip report since we were also staying at Kidani. I was there for 5 nights with my buddies for a softball tournament at the Wide World of Sports. My wife could only come in for the weekend. I was so busy planning the trip and figuring out what we were going to do for the Jet game I had forgotten about the spectrum moms trip until she sent me a text and said she noticed you wearing an autism scarf.

I am glad my wife had a chance to say hello. I crack up reading your trip reports because our families have much in common. I am in the same profession as your husband, we have a 15 yr old daughter and our son Christopher is 10. My MIL has played the role of your Aunt on a few of our trips..lol. We are also DVC'ers.

I don't post much on the trip boards. You guys are too dedicated for me. I don't spend much time on the boards unless we have a trip in the works. My wife mentioned you wanted to ask me some questions for your book so feel free to PM me anytime.

Glad you ladies had a good time on your trip. If you ran into any guys in baseball uniforms in the hallways of Kidani that was probably us. If they were really drunk and loud that wasn't us :rolleyes1

No, I didn't see anything at all like that. ;) I would say, "What happens in Disney stays in Disney," but this is the TR board so we know that isn't true!!

Did your wife tell you how we got to talking? I was so tired that I sat in her seat by mistake! We wound up sitting across the aisle from each other and had a nice little Disney chat. I'm glad you had a great trip and even more glad you stopped by to say hi; I haven't had much time to check in here since I got home but hopefully we can get the report up and running real soon.

I will certainly PM you in the future...

Traveling Day…

The anticipation of a long awaited trip is finally over when you zip up that bag, grab your stuff and head out the door…YE-HA! I’m going to Disney today…almost. The start of my 4 days began first with some nervous woes and a bit of guilt, :guilty: my kids were having a rough week and the reality of several commitments I said I’d do after my return hit me like a ton of bricks hours before heading to my parents’ house (I was sleeping there on Wed night before my early departure on Thurs).

After emailing my peeps (the Spectrum Mom’s), venting to my husband when he arrived home from work and my DD Bekah hugging me and saying “don’t worry Mom it will be fine”…I dusted off the sad face and got ready for some goody-goody gum drop fun…..

After my children were all in bed and I said my good-byes and gave lots of hugs and kisses :grouphug: I drove to my parents

I slept considerably well for a night before Disney and was in bed (apparently a lot earlier than most of my traveling companions) I set my alarm on my cell phone for 3:15 am…YIKES! And got up shortly after. After getting cleaned up, having a bit to eat, and getting the last things in my suitcase. I said good-bye to Mom, and got a text from Anne Marie (just before 4:30) remarking how early it was…I was officially on my way. My Dad drove myself and Anne Marie (we picked her up on the way) to the airport and it was a breeze. After dealing w/ her ticket issue (I’ll let her tell that part of story) we made our way easily through security…wow how quick it goes when you are by yourself and it’s 5 am. ;)

Our flight was on time and we left a dark and cold Chicago…

On the flight I listened to music, read some HP 7 and rested. We arrived in Sunny Warm Orlando and basked in the sun that we could already see out our plane window

We quickly started texting and receiving texts to and from Amy and Kathy…which Spectrum Mom would we see first?

Anne Marie and I made our way to the red carpet via the fake or mini monorail, we were most excited...

To be continued….hopefully the other mom’s can start filling in their traveling start of our trip…unfortunately several of the mom’s are sick since our return…so please be patient w/ us.

Great start to the trip report, I know what you mean about being sick after coming back from Disney :sad2:. I hope everyone feels better very soon!
