Now that Disney has added another Spectromagic parade while I am there (Sept. 22), I am wondering if I need to try and make sure that I see it. This would involve changing ADR's and possibly losing eating at Le Cellier. So my question is.....how "magical" is this parade?

I've seen the Share a Dream parade & the Halloween parade (my fav!!) at MK before and am just wondering if Spectromagic can be skipped. Any opinions from those who have seen it?

For me it's a must see, the first notes of the music always bring a happy tear to my eye. It's sooooo Disney! All your favorite friends, music, lights, it is Magical!

I think it is a must see. It is unlike any other parade. I do not even like parades, but this one is a must see for me. I moved my schedule around so that I could go this trip and I have already seen it a few times. You should try and get there a little early though because this parade is VERY popular.

i wouldn't skip. it is amazing. most parades we go to if we are around there but this is so beautiful it's worth the effort

OK, I hate Disney's usual parades. They are packed, hot and fairly boring IMHO. Spectromagic isn't anything like those. The lights, the music, the ambience! The only time I've seen it I couldn't stop smiling all night. It was truly the highlight of my vacation.

I would definitely try and make it.

Wow....wasn't expecting such a "pro Spectro" response!! Let the ADR shuffle begin!

Thanks for your input!

I too like so many others am very "pro Spectro". It is a great show and I make sure I see it atleast once every trip

It's my favorite parade at Disney, although I love the Halloween one too. My kids absolutely love it - I love watching them watch it.

I guess I'm in the minority, because I was actually underwhelmed. I hadn't seen a Disney parade since the Main Street Electrical Parade at Disneyland a loooong time ago, and I enjoyed that one. I don't remember too much about it, since I was so young, but I just remember liking it. I guess the reason why Spectro wasn't as good as I was hoping was because all of the good things I've read about it on this board. I was expecting too much. In my opinion, it was good to see, but I wouldn't have been disappointed if I missed it. Oddly enough, I really enjoyed the Disney Stars and Motor Cars parade at MGM.

I would make sure to see this parade. We usually don't see the parades in Disney (except the Christmas parade during MVMCP) but this parade is a must! The music, floats, characters, it is really great.

If you have children it is an even bigger must do. We saw a rain abbreviated (think torrential downpours) version in June with my 7 year old niece, and she was just enthralled.

"On this magic night, a million stars are brightly shining......."

Done! We will just hop on that Thursday from Epcot to MK, since our ADR's at Le Cellier are now for lunchtime, and see Spectromagic. To make up for it, we will spend a half day at Epcot on Friday (originally a "rest" or "resort" day) and dine at the just acquired Princess Dinner at Akershus before catching Illuminations that evening.

Thanks for everyone's input!

Just give yourself plenty of time, as you will have to change monorails at the TTC. We just did this last week. Okay, we had a mishap and the camera got left behind at Rose and Crown and we had to go back for it, so that cut us short on time, but we wound up RUNNING like lunatics to catch the first Monorail, and then the next monorail was pulling in and we had to run down the ramp, over several feet and then up the other ramp. When we got to MK we were running down the ramps as well, I thought we would all colapse.

Why did we do it? My nieces had never seen it and it was the only night it was playing. I thought my BIL was going to kill me. After the parade I apologized for making him run so much. He replied "Are you kidding me?! That was fantastic!" and gave me a hug.

You haven't "done Disney" if you don't do Spectro!!! It is part of the Magic to me! :wizard:
Don't miss it - especially for food!!

And if you have children, I'll bet they are still talking about it months afterwards...it will be a part they will always remember.
It brings me back to my childhood visit, no matter how many times I've seen it!
