SpectroMagic v. Main Street Electrical Parade

I really can't abide Spectromagic. That dirge that passes for a main theme makes me want to stick my head in the garbage disposal. I'd need a fifth of gin and a jar of olives to sit through it.

The music in Spectro is so much better that those little guys could be wearing Alfred E. Newman masks and I would still prefer Spectro over MSEP!!

~LOL! I didn't think it was possible but I like the chucky dolls much better than the unmasked guys. Look at his legs! SpectroMan puts my old Pilates coach to shame. I wont judge until I finally get to see SpectroMagic for myself. I can't wait to see it!

Ok, I never went to WDW or DL as a child and the first parade I saw was MSEP on my honeymoon. It was (and still is) ok. I don't feel the need to see it everytime I go. I find the music kind of annoying. On the other hand, we made a point of seeing Spectromagic every time it was on and we were in MK. I'd like to see them bring it back.

We were in mk in march and I was shoked that my favorite night time parade had changed to MSEP. I find the music very annoying. I want spectro back!!

I found that Main Street Electrical Parade is more colourful than Spectromagic...but i prefer the music of Spectromagic by far.

Watched it the other night (here at Disney now). Although the MSEP is a nice parade, I guess we're just tired of it. We ended up leaving 3/4 of the way thru.

We're soooo happy to hear Spectro is coming back this summer....we miss the music!

MSEP was a nice break but I'm soooo ready for Spectro to come back. I love Spectro and could watch it multiple times, MSEP is just a once every year or so for me type of parade.

Personally, I'd rather see both retired and all new night parades at both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom. They were both great in their own way, but it is time for something new with all new floats. Oh and none of those lame show stop parades with two floats and not much else. I'm talking a real parade.

I think people like Spectro because it puts the kids to sleep and the bus ride home is quieter! I couldn't watch the whole thing on youtube here it was so dull. That's how I remember it in the parks.
We will watch Illuminations and rush to the monorail to race to MK to see MSEP. We see it 2 or 3 times each trip. When Spectro was running, we did rides.
I remember making a last minute (actually a few months planned) trip in June 2010 when MSEP was brought back. We probably saw it 4 or 5 times that week and again several in subsequent trips. I never get tired of it and it is one of my ringtones as someone else said.

I have never gotten to see Spectromagic and have seen MSEP the past two trips. I agree the music does get a bit tiresome although it is very colorful. However since I've yet to witness Spectro I'll be glad to be able to during our trip in November. I am kind of sad to see magic, memories and you going away. I only got to see it once and found it very moving and incredibly well done. But again I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with this new show. In conclusion, yay for Spectromagic.

I have not seen MSEP yet ( 12 days ) so I really have no room to comment. However, there is something about the music of the spectromagic- Whenever I hear it I get goosebumps. Its one of those pure Disney moments for me. I hope I will feel that way about the electrical parade... does Tink make an appearance by any chance?
