Hi. Our family is going to Disney for the first time in October. I've been following the board religiously and thought that I was pretty well planned out.

I just realized that with the schedule I have planned, we will not be in MK to see the SpectroMagic parade.

Question: Is this a must see parade or is the parade with MNSSHP along the same line so we wouldn't be missing much?

Thanks for your help.

Spectro magic is a definate must see... I love all the floats with the characters and all the sparkling lights ... My favorite parade in the MK :thumbsup2

It's by far my fave parade that WDW has done in the past few years. I don't bother with the afternoon MK parade or the MGM parade but we schedule our MK days around Spectromagic. I think it's great.

It is just gorgeous!!! My personal fav of the trip. We saw MNSSHP & my DD4 was afraid of all the villians in it. It's not at all the same atmosphere but interesting in its own way. If you can rearrange to catch Spectro, I think it's worth it!

Spectromagic is Disney magic at its best. Do whatever you must do to be sure you see it.

I agree - I'd try to catch Spectro - the music is contagious!

Spectromagic is awesome!!! And I also agree, the music is contagious. I downloaded it on to my I-pod so that I can listen to it all the time! Can't get enough of it!

come on sing it with me :rockband:
'round the world tonight a symphony of spectomagic .....(atleast i think that's the words)

the mnsshp parade song is even more contagious
boo to you ...boo to you...happy halloween :dance3:

in all seriousness i would not miss either one of them, they are both really good. we have seen spectromagic atleast 30 times and it still is just as magical as the first. all the lights are so beautiful at night and it makes you feel like a kid again and isn't that what the magic kingdom is all about. the mnsshp is obviously themed more for halloween and villans, but is a ton of fun !!

It's no ordinary parade. A must see.
We try to catch it serveral times when we are there.
Last year we watched it three times during our 7 day stay
:dance3:

where do I find the schedule for this parade...Ill be there sept 17-24..thanks

To answer your question, YES, Spectro is a must see parade because there is no other parade like it. The floats, the LIGHTS, the music, make it very special. You would really be missing out if you skip Spectro.

And the MNSSHP parade is totally different from SpectroMagic and also a must see if you are going to the party.

I love parades, and Disney does them to the NTH degree and we always somehow manage to see all afternoon, night, and special parades when we visit.

We will be at Disney Dec 2-9. I have seen the light parade many times. Is it the same as Spectromagic? Is it still going on in Dec?

I think you should probably see this one. It's something that I don't schedule into my day now that I have seen it, but it is definitely worth seeing.
I am wondering though if anyone else is freaked out by those clowns with the glowing heads. I don't know why, but they really bother me every time I see them. I know for a fact that if I was a kid, I would be scared of them. I don't know, maybe I am weird.

Question about Spectromagic-- What direction does the parade run (starting at the front of the park vs starting in frontierland)? I'm wondering which direction it runs on nights where they only have 1 parade at 8 PM vs when they have 2 parades at 8 & 10 PM. We are trying to make dinner reservations (at Jiko--we'll need to take the AK bus) and want to know when Spectromagic would be done, how much time we need to leave to get there (and change) etc...

Any help is greatly appreciated! :) TIA!

ME TOO!! When I first saw them I took a few steps backwards. Of course my 6 year old took my hand and said "don't be scared mommy, they aren't real"...

I heard a rumor that the parade is done with the new celebration and there will be a new parade in October or so. Anyone know if this is true?

My absolute favorite parade...we bought the CD of the music. All the floats are lights...it is beautiful! If it is running twice when we are there we'll watch it twice! :yay:
