I'm disappointed that on the E-night we will spend at MK that they have yet to schedule a Spectromagic time. How late do I continue to check the WDW web site to see if this changes? Will be there August 19-24th and intend on one HUGE day at MK only. Is Spectromagic better than Fantasmic? Will have two kids in tow,12 and 10 and don't know if it pays to park hop back to MK in case they don't schedule a spectro show for that night. Is that common to only have 2 Spectro shows in one week?:(

It's difficult to compare SpectroMagic with Fantasmic because they are so different. It's like comparing the Rock n' Roller Coaster with Mission: SPACE.
Anyhow, I do think that SpectroMagic is a not-to-be-missed parade. It is also the highest-rated parade performed at WDW right now.

http://www.spectromagic.com should give you a better impression of what it is like so that you can decide for yourself if seeing it is worth the effort.

I, too, am of the opinion that Spectromagic is a must-see. I wouldn't miss it! I will be there August 9-16 and for a long time they only had three Spectromagic shows scheduled the entire week I am going to be there. I recently discovered on the WDW website though that they have changed it and are going to have a show every night while we are there! Woohoo! So there's always hope they may add a show, although maybe it's different because you're going on an e-night.

Is Spectro worth it?.....

If you are a big fan of the Main Street Electirical Light Parade....NO.

If you haven't seen MSELP......YES.

Agreeing that Spectro and Fantasmic are two seperate animals. Both good in their own right.

Since they aren't showing Spectromagic every night anymore, I doubt if they will show it on E-ticket night.

If you've never seen Spectromagic its something to see...that said...we've seen it 3 or 4 times and will probably skip it this weekend to get some extra rides in.

I guess it depends too on whether or not you're a big parade person....some people love them, some couldn't care less. It's a very good parade. I like it better than Fantasmic...but as others have said Fantasmic is something totally different (not a parade!).

They only seem to show Spectromagic once or twice a week....so if you can catch a showing, do it. If not, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I doubt the schedule will change at this point. But always check the schedules where you get there....

Main St Electrical was our first WDW night-time parade. When we went back two years later, Spectro had taken it's place. I was prepared to be let down. Didn't happen. We love Spectro. Spectro, for us, is the only reason to brave MK on a Sat night. We will do it early on our trip so we can focus on riding the attractions during future showings. We get there on the 15th so there are a couple choices for us. I wouldn't miss it if you haven't seen it yet.

I think Spectromagic is something you have to see once, but I don't think it compares to the old Main Street Electrical Parade. I wish they would have kept it at Disney World.

I think both are must sees, but I agree with Leslie if you have seen it before it's a great time to to ride the major rides with very short waits. I went the last week of May and i think that Spectromagic was only one night that week. the rest of the week MK closed at 7 pm every night. I hated that because I've always enjoyed Mk at night but it closed before dark every night but one. BTW it even closed at 7 pm on Memorial Day...

yeah it is a must see in my book - for that matter so is Fantasmic
but they are two completely different events - Fantasmic uses water as a movie screen.... very cool... and there will be fire all around... which is also very cool... and there is a story line

Spectro, on the other hand, is a parade format with floats and characters walking about - I was very impressed with Spectro the first time I saw it...and I am still very impressed...
