Me, my kids, and my sister are planning to go to Disney in October of 2007. My husband and I just took the kids to Disney about 3 weeks ago, and we all LOVED the Spectromagic parade. Do they do the Spectromagic parade the week before Halloween? Or is it just the special Halloween parade for the Halloween party? We plan on getting tickets for the Halloween party when we go, but was just curious if they don't have Spectromagic, is the Halloween parade just as good? :teeth:

Yes, they still have Spectromagic throughout October. The special Halloween parade can only be seen during MNSSHP (you will not see Spectromagic during the party). We have seen two different Halloween parades during the last 5 years that we have attended the party. One we LOVED and the other just didn't do anything for us.

They also do special Halloween fireworks. We went one night to see the regular "Wishes" and got the Halloween version. UGH!!!!!! It's like picking up a cup and taking a drink, expecting something else to be in the cup! :guilty: Make sure that you check the schedule and see that you're going to see what you want to see before you make the hike to the park, not that a trip to the park is ever a waste! We did get to ride the three mountains in a ROW (walked on) as a consolation prize! :cheer2:

You must catch SPECTRO while you're down there and WISHES...the best parade and fireworks in all of the WORLD IMHO. Hallo-WISHES is during the PARTY, wich is TOTALLY different and not really "good". Disturbing actually, but this comming from a TOTAL WISHES lover!!!! Either way, it would be best for you to catch the parade and fireworks on the PARTY night and on a regular MK night. Hope this helped!

If you go to the offcial disneyworld website, click calendars, click Magic Kingdom for month of october then click on the actual date of month it will give you a listing of all the parades/fireworks that are going on on that day in that particular park.

Also if you are doing the MNSSHP be sure to be at a veiwing site for the parade before it starts, about ten minutes before the majority of the parade comes by. the headless horseman rides the parade route - it was the coolest thing to see and hear last year.

They add a few "halloween" type fireworks to the wishes fireworks for the party, its just a little twist to the "everyday" display

Also don't forget to get your free family picture (your allowed one for every home address). We had ours done at Liberty Square site - there was no one there in and out in about 5 minutes. it was also great seeing all the people who came in custome (i wouldn't get to elaborate with these as some of them seemed like it would be hard to get on rides and not the most comfortable to walk around in for 5 hours).
