Spectro rain cancellations??

Does any bit of rain cause Spectro to be cancelled, or does it have to be more significant, storming, etc? I would hate to plan to watch Spectro on our last day and have it be cancelled. I will definitely keep an eye on the weather forecast.

Thanks,
Tammy

It was cancelled on our trip in July twice. But we had thunderstorms, not just little rain storms.

We were there last Tuesday evening, and it was the only day of our vacation with a drop of rain. Unfortunately, it was much more than a drop. :( It was off and on, but it was pretty steady for a while until just before the parade was scheduled to kick off. It was delayed only a few minutes, and even though it continued drizzling a bit, the parade did run. It was, however, altered a bit - I noticed atleast one float that was taken out, it stalled a few times, and the sequences with dancers (ballerinas, fireflies) were cut out. It was pretty slick though, so I can't blame them for doing so.

The good news is that I think it takes a pretty substantial amount of rain (or thunderstorms - lightening cancels things pretty quick) to cancel it completely. If you have an opportunity, however, and there's even a whisper of rain in the forecast, I'd plan to see it your first chance, just in case.

Generally it has to be a significant rain to cancel Spectro (Day parade is another story...that one gets canceled more for rain than Spectro does). As stated above they will alter it alittle bit if it is raining. They do not run the Chernabog or the Carousel floats (since those floats have moving parts) and some of the entertainment cast (that dances) are taken off. (I have actually seen the parade run with the Fantasia float with no ostriches, which is bizzare but...) Being that Spectro is a big thing (an not run every night), they will do all that they can to run the parade. They duty manager wants to put it out there for you as much as you want to see it :)

A CM told us that a lot of the decision has to do with the bridge between the hub and Liberty Square. Apparently, this bridge can be quite slick when it rains, so a lot of times before the parade starts, you'll see CMs pacing this bridge if it's raining.
As a side not, the CM also told us that because this bridge is so narrow, it is a sort of "driver's ed" course for float drivers. If they can navigate across the bridge, they figure they can navigate the whole parade route.

Thanks for all the replies. Our first chance to see Spectro is on a Saturday, and the other on a Monday. We are going to try for Monday (hopefully less crowded) unless rain is forecasted.
