Spectrespecs at the WWoHP?

Luna Lovegood is my favorite HP character. I feel that she is just like me, with her being strange and all (That's me), and I was really excited when I found out that they sold her wand and her Spectrespecs (Along with a Quibbler cover!) at the WWoHP.

Since I have not yet reached the book in which Luna is seen wearing the Spectrespecs, and the movie didn't provide that much of a description of what it's like wearing them, I wanted to know what the Spectrespecs at the WWoHP are like when you wear them. At first sight I thought they were just cardboard 3D glasses like this :3dglasses, but then I read that wearing them was like seeing everything in rainbows :cool1:. I have no idea which to believe, so I'd like for someone who bought them and has worn them to tell me what it's like wearing them. I want to get them regardless, but I was just wondering if it was the red and blue 3D or if it's like rainbows?

Thanks!

But did you buy the ones from the WWoHP? The OP wanted to know if those worked!

They work like she posted, the old school one half blue, one half red so you can see things in The Quibler. The ones at WBShop let you see more "like rainbows"

EDIT: actually now I have to go check again because I sent my copy of the Quibbler (and glasses) to a family member. I remember being very disappointed in them, which caused me to search for the other pair.

I was just watching some videos on the merch to prepare for my 1st visit tomorrow, and the filmer graciously put their pair of Spectrespecs in front of the camera so we could see. The lenses are clear and have a cool effect that DOES make light look like rainbows. I'm thinking that the red and blue confusion was because of the coloring that is around the lenses. But that's what makes you look funny, like a "demented multicolored owl" as it says in the book.

I wouldn't mind the carboard either. As Luna got hers out of her the magazine, it's no surprise that they're cardboard. Otherwise, they wouldn't have been able to fit in the magazine.

Yay! Thanks so much! Glad to know that they work like that!

:worship: Thank you again! I can't wait for tomorrow!!

Yep, I can now CONFIRM that they let you see in rainbows. Bought a pair yesterday and have worn them several times. They are SOOO cool. Since I now have her wand and the Spectrespecs, I'm thinking of going as Luna for Halloween!

But, back to the original question, they do allow you to see in rainbows.
