Hi,

I took some photos of my local village a while back and when I reviewed them, I noticed they were covered in black speckles. Is this a dirty lens causing the problem? How do I fix it, I'm going to Disneyland Paris on Sunday and don't wan t speckly photos!

Here's one of my pics:

what camera are you using..

if it's the lens, you need a blower brush to blow dust off the lens, then a microfiber closth and cleaning fluid, you put a drop or 2 of fluid on the cloth and gently wipe the lens in a circular motion, then dry the lens with a dry spot on the cloth...

if it's a dslr, and it's your sensor,, that's a whole other story on cleaning...

You were at f/36. I would say almost certainly that is sensor dust. Any reason you had the aperture so small?

I don't understand cameras - that's why! :lmao: I have no real idea what the aperture does other than it makes more or less stuff be in focus? Something like that?

It's a Canon 300D with the standard kit lens. I think my boyfriend got it in 2005 - I know it's never been cleaned minus having the lens wiped.

It is definitely sensor dust. I have never needed anything more than a blower to get my dust off, but I am very particular about only having the lens off for a split second when changing lenses. Check out the Giottos Rocket Blower. With that much, you might need a kit that actually physically cleans it. Be very careful with that method though b/c you can scratch and ruin the sensor. Some of them might very well be dark spirits though. :rotfl2: The only dark spirits I ever see are of the rum and bourbon variety. :drinking1
