 Ok. I've never been to either of these parks (but good ole FL over and over and over, etc.). Super anxious as we get closer. This was a last minute trip so haven't had time to research anything. I have a few questions that I hope someone has the answer to so I can "Keep Calm and Disney On". (Of course if you'd like to add any other information, that would be greatly appreciated).

1. How does the DAS work? Is it a sep. card or on your tix?
2. What ecv company do you recommend?
3. We're currently staying at the Hilton which advertises right across the street from Disney. Is there another hotel that might be closer to the maingate and CA Adv?

Thank you for any assistance.

I can answer #1 and 3.

The DAS works in a similar way to the way it works in WDW. The main difference is that you get the return times from kiosks instead of at the attraction. You can get a RT for either park at any of the kiosks and you can ask for your first RT when you get your DAS at either City Hall or the Chamber of Commerce. The DAS is added electronically to your entry ticket and is no longer a separate card.

The closest hotels to the entrances are all motels as opposed to hotels with interior corridors. We have stayed at the Park Vue Inn 3 times and the Desert Inn and Suites 3 times and while neither of them are fancy, we would stay at either of them again. The PVI has a much better breakfast but the DI&S is less expensive.

Regarding off site accommodations - this link may be a good starting point :http://www.wdwinfo.com/disneyland/disneyland-resorts/

There are several motels that are closer than the Hilton. Have a read through the Disneyland forum, which has many threads about nearby hotels. We stayed at the Tropicana last summer and it was fine. Clean and quiet, with their own mini mart.

This site has a PDF map of local hotels that might be a good visual aid::http://visitanaheim.org/plan/maps
As you can see on the map, the 2 Hilton's are closer to the convention center than to the main Disneyland entrance.

The Disneyland forum might also be a good place to ask about off site ecv rentals.

Deckert's is the best off site ECV rental company! Whatever you do don't use Apple! Deckert's number is 714-542-5607. I use them every time I go to Disneyland!

When in an ECV or wheelchair, you don't need a DAS. In DL you go to the exit of the rides and they scan your ticket and then they give you a return time and when you come back they scan your ticket and you go in through the exit. You can only have one return time at a time. In DCA, most all of the ride ques are ECV friendly so you just go through the regular line and then they will direct you where to go once you get to the front of the line.

The Hilton by the convention center???? If so, it's quite far away, actually. I mean, technically, it is "across the street" but it's not the same street you use to enter the property on Harbor. I would guess it's at least a 10-15 min walk.

I hope you are not at the Hilton at the Convention Center. The above poster is right, it is hardly "across the street." It's actually quite a long walk, although they do provide a very slow shuttle service to the parks.

I have also used with great success OC Medical for scooter rentals. 714-956-4690. If you are staying at the Hilton you definitely want to rent off-site because you will need the scooter to get to the parks. You might also consider the Fairfield Inn and Howard Johnson's--they are closer than the Hilton I believe.
