Okay,

You know how Dora the Explorer is educational?? It teaches little kids to speak Spanish.

Well I was thinking,

a TON of kids/teens in my area (maybe yours too) are Hispanic and don't speak a bit of English, In fact they talk in Spanish to their friends at school and when the teachers call on them the teachers give them sympathy because they cant speak English

Well..

Not everyone was born speaking a language why don't they teach them English instead of feeling bad for them and just letting them do whatever they want in school because "they don't speak our language mouse..".

My theory is,

Instead of having Dora the Explorer you would have a group of Spanish speaking kids do an educational show on speaking English. So like a backwards Dora the explorer.

I am NOT raciest I'm just extremely tired of the Hispanics getting special treatment because they cant speak English.

well, dora doesnt really teach enough spanish. i know where youre coming from though. theres people at my school who still cant read without help and it drives me nuts that the teachers let them turn in their assignments late.

Im tired that they can SIT OUT DURING PE BECAUSE THEY COULDNT UNDERSTAND WHAT THE TEACHER WAS DOING!?

I mean..come on its not like their blind

They know how to play soccer!!

XD

That does make me angry, but I've only known one hispanic person like that. All the others I've known, though they do speak spanish at home, speak english at school and to friends. And they speak good english, too.

I think it's messed up when people just speak Spanish. I think if you live in United states you have to atleast speak some english.

Around here there is alot of that and it makes me mad. Like they're talking about me. :l

But... aren't there maybe ten Spanish-language channels compared to hundreds of English ones?

I know where you're coming from, though, with there being all kinds of catering to people who only speak Spanish recently. Most of what I've seen around here is done with business in mind (getting more customers by having Spanish signs, getting more viewers by having Spanish audio available), which doesn't help at all to encourage people to speak English AND Spanish, but that's business for you. Maximize profits, gosh darn the consequences. :\

Right but none of them teach kids english.

Not specifically, that's true. But it's said that one of the best, most effective ways to learn to speak another language is to hear it spoken fluently and frequently, AKA immersion, and English TV shows should fit that bill perfectly. (I'm planning to try and learn Spanish a little faster by watching novellas myself, as soon as I figure out which channels are the Spanish ones. :P )

But I guess the usefulness of this method is diminished by there being Spanish everywhere, even on TV constantly, but I've heard of plenty of immigrants learning English this way. Though, all these stories *were* from at least a few years ago...

Exactly!

And the fox, is American and works for the FBI. He spies on Dora. She is always goign on special adventures, because she needs to deliver packages. Hmm I wonder what those packages REALLY are? Guns maybe?
Dora's a cocaine addict btw. Her cousin, Diego is also an illegal immigrant, he is trying to rape all the animals in the rainforests. She has EVERYTHING in her backpack too! And she's like.. 6 years old, and she can speak Spanish AND English perfectly!

I remember in Kindergarten a new girl came who only spoke chinese.
She got to sleep in the back of the room when we were learning to read!

I agree that kids should learn English if they live in America.

I'm Hispanic and when I lived in Miami I was put in this program for people didn't really speak English even though I didn't need it. There is a couple of kids who don't make an effort to learn English and trust me it frustrated me too. But there was also kids who actually tried to learn English and got pretty good at it. I already knew a lot of English when I got to Miami and by the next year I was already in all honors. I am actually now better at English than Spanish and I moved back to Puerto Rico. I really dislike when people take advantage of their problems.

Dora is rude.
She yells at kids to say a spanish word. She's like "SAY IT!!! RAWR SAY IT!!" Then the monkey is like "Say it with me!"
Why can't they just say it. >_<
:lmao:

I think Swiper the fox is a perv.
And what is in Dora's backpack..?

Map! Backpack coincidentally/ironically? xD has everything Dora needs all the time.
Hmm...

Drugs, guns and she's smuggling people into America with her. That's why her backpack talks.

Maybe Diego is in there and security isn't tight enough to check her backpack? ;o

Maybe.. or maybe it's like Mary Poppins' bag, and she has half of the people in AFRICA in there!
