My Wife and I are going to be celebrating our first year married by becoming first time visitors to Disney world, sea world and Universal during the first week of june.

Heres my question

What are some ideas one could do while constantly attachted to their spouse for sweet little mini surprises while in the parks. I will probably only leave her side to use the bathroom so this is gonna be tricky. lol :confused3

Also dont include any hotel / resort stuff:banana: , only ideas while in the parks.

Thanks guys. :grouphug:

Take her to the wishing well, toss in a coin and tell her you've made a wish. Give her a kiss and tell her the wish has just come true (being with her). If you could get a Mickey Ring at one of the shops, you could give it to her in front of the castle and tell her how special she's made you feel.

Catch the Dapper Dans and tell them what you're celebrating and they'll sing you a song, you could even join them and sing to her.

Lots of little things.

-Book either a Wishes cruise or an Illumination cruise! You must book in advance & she will likely love this!! It is pricey, but it's supposed to be amazing!

-Book a reservation at Cinderella's Round Table restaurant in the Magic Kingdom for dinner & special order her a chocolate glass slipper for dessert. I think you have to order these at least 48 hours in advance & it's around $12

Aww, too bad about the chocolate! :(

This website will give you great info on the cruises. Again, they are a bit pricey, but supposed to be worth doing (especially the Illuminations one-you get really close to the action!!):

Make sure you wear your 1st Anniversary buttons. That will likely get you a lot of recognition from the CM's and characters.

If you were to do dinner at Cinderella's Castle, try to make reservations for a time that coincides with the fireworks. Then when you check-in, let them know of the special occasion, and see if you can get a table next to the window. My (now ex) wife loved that surprise on our honeymoon. Also, the cruises are great ideas.

This next one depends on how much she already knows about WDW. If she has a favorite character, see if they are part of any character meals, and make reservations for that, without letting her know it's a character meal. Even more, if you have a gift you'd like to give her, check with the CM at the restaurant, and see if you can have the character deliver it to the table for you.

And no, WDW had nothing to do with the "(now ex)" part of my story. :lmao:

Nothing beats dinner at Victoria and Albert's Dh and I went during our Disneymoon. It was the most romantic, exciting, beautiful, amazing night of our lives. The food and service are amazing as well!

Two years ago,
I ordered flowers from the disney florist, and had them delivered along with anniversary buttons.
I also called the resort, and made sure they were not put in the room until after we had gone to the park.
We checked in around 11:00 am, and had lunch, then went to the parks.
We called for our room assignment from the parks.
When we got to the room, I made sure she went in first, and the flowers were right there.

AWSOME! Great Ideas guys. Keep-em coming.

I wish I could get the anniversery buttons before we go, Since we ar enot staying at a onsite resort we will have to make a trip to the office where you get them I am afraid.

Call the restaurant beforehand and ask for a surprise cake for dessert that reads "Happy Anniversary".

Since we got married at Disney, I had the top of our Wedding cake recreated and in the room shortly after we arrived (for our 1st Anniversary), but the restaurants will allow a special cake.

We did this at 'Ohanas for my Mom's bday, as it was 2 weeks after our Wedding. She loved it!

Take her to our favorite secluded place in AK....the landing that overlooks Discovery River and the Tree of Life. If you want to take a small gift for Anniversary, hide it in your camera bag. That's what my now DH did with the engagement ring. Last time I was there...."our" bench was there. He waited for another party to leave before he asked.

Take a boat to Poly and stroll along the beach with a view of MK.

I can't take credit since this wasn't my idea :) But Kevin from the DisUnplugged podcast once suggested that a husband write a nice heartfelt letter to his spouse and give it to them while at WDW. I think he suggested giving it to your server and having them deliver the note with dessert as a nice surprise. I loved this idea and would love if my husband did this for me!! Tell her how special this first year has been or just jot down some of your favorite memories together and that you can't wait to make more magical memories in the future!

Or go watch the fireworks from the beach at the Polynesian and give the letter to her just before the fireworks go off- sounds pretty romantic to me- and free!

dw collects plush disney charcters.i called many times and talked to many very helpfull cm and had the large minny in the room with a bow on her head.it was there when she walked in the room at check in. she loved it.it sounds weird but that trip with just the two of us on our 19 th was the best trip ever.

You can get them at the customer relations building as soon as you enter each park!

You could take her to coral reef in epcot, I believe you can call in advance and get the diver in the aquarium to swim up and show a happy anniversary sign.

Also, on our last trip to WDW my DH and I went to dinner at the California grill...we had a wonderful meal and then took two glasses of champagne out onto the roof deck to watch wishes...it was so nice!

As far as the fireworks cruise - those are great. If you don't want to fork over the $300+ to have the boat to yourself, you can check out the thread on this board where people chip in for a ride together. The boats seat 10 so you can get the price down quite a bit if you share: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2069267

As far as the pins, if you really want to have them in advance, you could check ebay. I’ve seen them there before for a few bucks each.

Gifts of a Lifetime are not an official WDW company but they may be able to help you out.

I've not had the opportunity to use them (although I've mentioned it numerous times to DH considering the big b-day I have coming up! :goodvibes)

And, as other folks mentioned, make a call before leaving to WDW & arrange something in advance. She'll be none the wiser & very suprised. We did use WDW florist to deliver a snack bag/back pack to my BIL/SIL & their kids on their first trip & it was quite nice from what my SIL told me.
