My wonderful in-laws are paying for our entire Disney vacation. They are insisting on paying the whole bill, meals, etc. I know they will not let us pick up anything while we are there.

I would like to do SOMETHING for them while we are there. They won't go off by themselves so I can't send them on their own "excursion". I was thinking about something special I could present them at the start of the trip. I was going to make special shirts for our group to wear but my mother-in-law went and bought the ones through the Disney store. My budget is limited but I really want it to be something special.

HELP! Any suggestions?

Wow, that's so nice of them ( I have great in-laws too, but not as GREAT as yours!)

I don't know how to go about this, maybe through guest relations, but what about seeing if they could be "Grand Marshall’s" of a parade. Definitely something to remember.

I assume that you are taking the kids as well
I saw these great photo bags ($4.99) that you can slide pictures into. The pics go into pockets on the side. Pics of the kids on the trip would be great. Your mother in law could start the bag with current pics then change them to the Disney pics after.
:p Just an idea..
It's a nice gift from them.

I'm not sure how limited your budget is, but here is what I would do.

If you are staying on property, keep an eye on your in-laws in the gift shops, if they are interested in something but don't buy it, sneak back in, buy it for them & have it shipped to your resort. That way, by the time they see it, it is already paid for and sitting in their room!

Another suggestion would be to keep a journal of the trip & when you get home write a "trip report" like the ones posted here, place it in an inexpensive scrap book or photo album with your favorite photos from the trip. You can often find photo albums with Mickey, etc in regular stores so you don't have to pay a lot for an official WDW photo album. Or buy a plain photo album & decorate with dollar-store Mickey stickers. It will be after the fact, but a great keepsake.

I used Disney Florist for the first time on our trip about two weeks ago and they were GREAT!!!!

I wanted something special for my DD and when I called Disney Florist, they were wonderful. There was a welcome basket (for kids) and they let me substitute things I knew my daughter would like.

On our first night there, we went to dinner at Ohanas, and then watched the fireworks on the beach. When we returned to our room (All Star Movies), the basket was waiting for us in the room -my DD was so surprised!!!! It was signed "We missed you - From the Disney Gang"!!! Allison really thought Mickey sent it for her!

There are several baskets you can choose from - in different price ranges. You may want to check them out! (www.disneyflorist.com)

Have fun!!!

Another idea to add to the scrapbook is to have each person write a note to your In Laws about the most special event during the trip.

Do you have a video camera? Offer to take all the video for the week and then make a copy for them.

Another idea is to book the Ice Cream Social at Epcot and get them "rehitched". Good luck finding the perfect special gift.:D

Not sure how much you want to or can spend. Maybe you could get the rest of the family to help out with the surprise too.
Check out the Illuminations dessert party. It is about $20 per person and they use the private area to the right of the UK fish and chips area. You have private viewing for the fireworks show and some of the best desserts and drinks. The lemon squares are to die for. If you call Disney they will come up with some ideas.
YOu might also think about some kind of balloon or flower bouquet for the room they will have. Maybe some candy or snacks for them to nibble on, and share with the group.
Definately call disney and ask. Peggie
