Special Servers for Dinner

We are going on our first cruise on 2/7. I have been reading this board and it has been very useful! I don't want to open a can of worms here, but I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share the names of servers whom you would highly recommend. We will have another couple with us and a total of 5 kids between 5 and 10. I did not even realize that you could request a particular team.

Head Server MacLean runs a great team, he is absolutely the most wonderful head server on the ship! On his team is Alex from Phillipines. He is a very efficient, personable server and I HIGHLY recommend him. I ask for Alex on my cruises.

I can also recommend Giorgio from Brazil - he is an Assistant Server who may be a Server by now; also Roberto from Peru who is due to leave the ship shortly; and Andrea and/or Zoran from Hungary are also excellent servers.

We also had the great pleasure of having Gaspare as a head server and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about him.

You will receive a great many reports about servers - and I can only say that we all hope you get the same wonderful service we have received from the servers we have had.

Most important things to remember to get outstanding service is basic manners - "please" and "thank you"! They go a LONG way!

We will be on the same sailing as you!!! Just remember that it is a request only...with that many people they may not be able to accomodate changing you from your assigned team to a requested team. They may be able to, but just don't count on it. DCL is very good at trying to please but a lot has to do with how full a section a particular team already has.

If I'm reading correctly, you are a table of 9 people. That's a bit harder to move than a table for 2.

On our upcoming cruise, we tried to request our favorite server in advance. We got a nice e-mail from DCL telling us that we can't do it (boo hiss). SO...we'll just try after we board, as we have always done.

Silvio is marvelous! We have had excellent lunch service on various cruiser with him. Good choice! Always a smile and greeting when he sees us on the ship - how do they remember us?!!!!
