Hi all,

We are having a 10 night trip in late Feb/early March and I am actually having a hard time coming up with PSs after the first 7 days! DH and I already have a PS at CG, do not care to dine this trip at V&A, and are looking for another special adults only dinner place. Last year we did Blue Zoo (Dolphin) and Chefs de France. How are the GF restaurants? Also, we haven't eaten at Le Cellier. Haven't eaten at Spoodles or Flying Fish in about 4 years. Also we are staying part of the trip at WL -- maybe try Artist Point (never had dinner there). Any ideas??? Am I missing anything?? Puck's at DD? Help??!!

Artists Point is a great place. Have you considered Le Bistre de Paris? That or perhaps Jikos?

we had a good meal at Lecellier but really enjoyed it more ( got steak both times) at brown derby. Lecellier is cozier, darker, maybe more romantic, BD is more open but elegant( silver coffee service for the dessert coffee. and our waiter there was very "waiter like" not like our best bud which was more in keeping with the theme..didn't feel like we were at MGM eating lunch) we would go back to both with out a second thought. Bd might be a little more expensive but the portion of sides was also a little larger ( we got 1-2 very small new potatos cut up into 6 tiny pieces at Lecellier as the side)

I would read reviews here, and check out places and menus on allearsnet.com

but, Yachtsmans Steakhouse in YC, Citricos in GF, Brown Derby in MGM, Flying Fish BW, Jiko's in AK Lodge, Artist Point in WL should keep you well fed.

You also have Downtown Disney as you said, and a few others over at Univ.

We tried Yachtsman Steakhouse for our anniversary last year and it was excellent! We will be going back. I was also able to try Palio recently and that was very good too. but, if I had to pick a favorite between the 2, YSH would win out.

Le Cellier should be a must for you, especially if you haven't tried it before. It is one of the better eateries in all the Parks, in our family's opinion.

I've heard alot of good things about Shula's steakhouse on these boards, but don't have first-hand experience.

If it's just adults, are you ready to try something totally different like Gloria Estafan's in DTD?
:cool1:

I would suggest Citricos, Narcoosees, Flying Fish or Yachtsmans St.

Gloria Estafan's in DTD?

aka: Bongos (the big pineapple)

I think it's important to decide what type of dining experience/ambience you would most enjoy, then sort thru which places are candidates to forfill the criteria.
:)

Artist Point is very nice. It's not huge and tends to be quiet. They have a nice bar up front with a good wine selection. Great place to relax.

Citricos is a favorite. The food and service have been excellent both times I've gone there. Some selections may be similar to V&A offerings. Elegant.

Flying Fish was a new one for me last year. Both food and service were excellent. It is a noisy place though so don't expect to relax. Lively atmosphere.

Jiko I've only peeked at while waiting to enter Boma. The food is creative and different. The atmosphere looks comfortable.

Our top adult only dining places are:

Jiko at AKL
Artist Point at WL
Flying Fish at Boardwalk
Spoodles at Boardwalk or Boma at AKL if you want a buffet
Le Bistro at EPCOT
(Alfredo's, Chefs de France, Marrakesh, Biergarten also wonderful meals)

In downtown disney, House of Blues, Bongo's, both enjoyable.

thanks guys. These are great ideas, some of which I had never even considered, like Brown Derby or le Bistro, 0r the Gloria Estefan place. this will be harder than I thought!

FYI: We did eat at Jiko in March 2002 and thought it was great, and ate at Shula's as well as the steak house in the Hard Rock Hotel with the charicatures on the walls in March 2003, and liked both very much. The food at Shula's was better, but the presentation was a bit over the top (wheeling up a tray with food on it to show you what exotic things like potatoes and lobsters look like -- not exactly impressive to Mainers... or to anyone, I would think). Also had a very good meal at House of Blues last year as well.

I am probably in the minority, but I would not recommend Artist Point. Our dinner here was not very good, the service poor, and for what we received, the meal was way overpriced. I know many people have eaten there numerous time and loved it. My recommondation would be for CG, and since you already have a PS there, I'd also go for Jiko. Although we've never been (next trip), I've heard nothing but great things from friends who've dined there.

DH and I ate at Narcoossee's in Dec. It was very good and the restaurant it over the lagoon. We could see the castle, Poly, Contemporary, etc. from our window seat. The waiter was nice. I've heard a lot of good things about Jiko and Artist Point on the boards and would like to try them next.

I've eaten at Flying Fish and really enjoyed it. Is the Gloria one Bongos? If so skip it! We ate there and it was okay but not in the same league as the other places you mention.
