I a member is booking, say a 2 Bedroom and a studio at the same time, can they request that these two be near each other? Would they be willing to make both reservations in the same building or wing ?

Would it be unlikely or likely that they would honor this request?

Yes, I'd makke the request when the reservations are made and they will note the request on both. Disney does place a priority on this type of request and it is more than not.

If you have 8 or more in your party you can register for a grand gathering (no cost) and that will help with coordinating your rooms.

It's kind of hit or miss- I had a group of 19 in a gv, 2br, and 1br under the grand gatherings with the request for the rooms to be near each other and wound up on 3 different floors at BWV, a group of 25 in 4 different villas on different floors and sections of VWL, and another large group spread out over 4 villas in 4 different buildings at OKW. We've never been able to get it coordinated to the point we were closer than the length of a hallway. It's not bad enough to ever let it ruin a vacation trip; it just can make some of the logistics a bit harder to deal with though. Sometimes it's a blessing to not be right on top of each other as well.

I think the Grand Gathering idea really does work. We had 5 BWV's close to each other when we were registered as one. Other times without the GG designation, we've been on different floors at VWL. If we could get through the ceiling, we would have been next to one another.
