First off, my waitlist came through and our first trip home is now completely official! :bounce:

Now, I need some help. I've already requested to have a non-smoking room (1BR unit) and have notified MS about the fact that I'm traveling with my 13 month old daughter. So, I have some of the things like a high chair & pack n' play, etc.

Should I request anything specifically in regards to trying to have a 'quiet' area for her? Meaning, is the 'quiet pool' area better? Second floor as opposed to first? I'd hate for her not to get a full night's rest and be cranky all day.

Any other suggestions are welcome as well.

Congratulations!

Some have mentioned noise in 1st floor units and recommend upper floors because of it. But I have not noticed that as a problem at Disney personally.

We actually prefer the first floor to cut down on the stairs.

Welcome Home!

Is it less likely to also have 'critters' (ie frogs or snakes) show up on your balcony or front door in a 2nd floor unit as opposed to first?

Congrats on getting your waitlist!! I just knew that you would.

We always request top floor, but that would mean shlepping a stroller up two flights of stairs. (Or you could leave it in your car.)

I can't think of any area of OKW that's noisy. The only problem you may encounter is the lawnmowers, but we've always been up when they've been by so it never bothered us.

They have a pack and play and highchair in the unit. OKW is very quiet so no unit is better than another. Many people travel with their little ones and don't seem to have a problem with them sleeping.

I have rarely encountered a snake on WDW property. Little tree frogs and toads, yes. But, since neither snakes or toads can climb stairs a second floor would be your best bet. However, little lizards seem to show up everywhere, outside. Harmless and they scatter immediately.
