special rates for the summer????

I have been reading on these boards about the Disney Insider rate and the special state rates at the Moderate hotels. They are offering $109 to $99 per night during the PEAK rate ($174/night) season. Is Disney having problems getting people to visit after the big millenium celebration? If so, do you think that they will be offering similar discounts during the summer months? I have been holding off making summer reservations thinking that they might offer a better rate. What do you think? Discounted rates for the moderates in the summer too?
there are more discounts now than I have seen in the last three years. I think with the "iffy" economy and last year's celebration people may not be booking like last year. I want a great discount for the summer too. Let's keep our fingers crossed. The best thing you can do is keep checking with the resort board and the budget board. Posters are very good about sharing their good fortune.

mickey mom i got a managers special last august(week of the 11th)for $159 at boardwalk or $179 for poly.
this year i got dolphin for entainment rate of $155.
still going to check for special in summer though as my wife would love to stay at poly or boardwalk.lets keep our fingers crossed.
We had ressies at Dixie Landings at the insider rate of 109/nt for mid-March. I was told by several CMs that the All-Stars were completely booked at that time, and when requesting an upsell I was told the Deluxes were pretty much booked too. They did have a courtyard view at the WL available, and that was about it. It was regular price. I think they're offering moderates at a discount because they're the only ones NOT near capacity.

I really think that there will be fewer AP rates anywhere this summer and they will fill in the gaps as needed. I'm afraid I'm losing hope of AP rates and just concentrating on trying to get upsell or other special rate. Last year gave them such false positive data with people making multiple reservations and then cancelling the ones they didn't want. It's difficult for them to project with numbers like that, the way they are handling it this year gives them a much truer picture. I think we all shot our selves in the foot on that one.
