Hi all
Foa anyone interested I had an email today from crown currency to say they have $39000 worth of cancelled dollars at $1.615 for delivery 23/9/10.Unfortunatley we go on the 22nd and just phoned to ask if we could have it but a no go for us.Though it might help someone else.
Great rate. She did offer me 1.546.
Number is 0800-612-7273.:thumbsup2

It's a great deal but it doesn't make any sense at all. Why on earth offer customers this rate if they could trade out of the position in the market at a much better rate? I know they have a loyal following but it looks fishy to me...

They prob sold it already for more than that but are offerring this 1.61. Why put a negative comment on something that might be of use to someone else. There are plently of people on here who have used CC with no issues and I simply put it on to pass on the info they sent me thats all:confused3.

It's not the first time they have done this. I have not bought from them in the past but I have only ever had good reports. :thumbsup2

Good rate, get it while it's hot.

I have never had any problems with Crown, ordered from them lots of times, and my order has always arrived on time.

I'm not putting a negative comment on what you have said, I am making a comment as to the reason they offer such deals. I qualified my comment by acknowledging that they have a loyal following, and I know that what I say might not be popular with those loyal to this company, but I feel obliged to say when I think something does not look right. My concern is that one of these days somebody will lose money.

No Crown transactions for me, but it's a great deal and the delivery date is not too far away which is a bonus for anyone willing to take up the offer. :)

Perhaps they want to broaden their loyal customer base, prioritising long term growth over short term gain?

Hmm... might give them a ring in the morning, I go on the 24th!
Is it still the standard bank transfer to pay if you call them or do they take payment over the phone? (As I don't get paid til Wednesday)
Also, is there a minimum amount you have to order for cancelled contract rates?

I've used them for the past 3 years. Excellent service, cannot fault them at all.

We are not going till next year but whenever they released these "cancelled contracts" I normally always get £500.00 worth or there abouts.

I think I have just got 1.6228 to the £.:thumbsup2

Who knows whether this time next year that will be a bargain or not :confused3:confused3

I ordered some $s from them last week and in the terms it says that you have to make a bank transfer within 3 days of placing the order so you should be fine to ring and do the transfer after you get paid.

I know the minimum for ordering on the website is £300 so I would guess it's the same for cancelled contracts but not sure.

Thanks for posting :thumbsup2

I have phoned this morning and ordered that rate for our trip in Nov...

Never used them before so fingers crossed

Nevr used them before but took the plunge and phoned 1.6103 for delivery 23rd September. Thanks for the tip. :goodvibes

Well done you guys. Have you all started your shopping lists yet? ;)

I've used Crown before and never had a problem. The only problem I had was Royal Mail decided to send my dollars elsewhere, Crown were very helpful, chased up Royal Mail and got my dollars a day late, no biggie as we weren't going for a few weeks. I've ordered some for early Oct we don't go until November.

can you pay by credit card,as i don't get paid for a fortnight,so i could order now, then pay my cc,when i get paid.
thanks in advance

Yes, only bank transfer or cheque. I think they have to receive bank transfer within 3 days of the order being placed, and a cheque within 2 working days - although they say the cheque takes upto 11 days to clear (I suppose it depends on how long they take to pay it in) so you could perhaps drag payment out that way?
