Seriously considering switching my Poly ressie. Never stayed S/D before, but it is very tempting and I would save $1348 on my 7 night stay by switching. What do you guys think?

I've stayed at the Swan and enjoyed it. It did have a slightly non-Disney feel about it though. It kind of felt like we were staying off property, but with that said $1348 is alot of money! ;) I did like the pool and my husband liked the health club amenities.

Thanks for the input, did you use their bus transport?

yes, we used it to go to MK. I think we just drove to TL. It was a couple of years ago and it was fine. I like staying in the Epcot resort area because you can walk or take the boat to MGM or Epcot.

:goodvibes LOVE IT!
We just stayed at the SWAN in October and attended the Epcot F & W festival.
The hotels are just beautiful and the MOST COMFORTABLE BEDS I have every slept in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No kidding. Almost better than my own.:goodvibes
:goodvibes

I still remember hitting those "Heavenly" beds after spending 16 hours at Epcot and it was wonderful!!

The Dolphin pool area is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you don't mind not having the towel animals like at the Disney hotels then I say switch. Service was great and the hotels are just lovely. It is so nice to be able to walk to Epcot or MGM or take the boat. We never had any problem with the busses to MK or AK either.:thumbsup2

I also loved the Boardwalk area. It was a nice place too sit in the evening and eat Ice cream...You can see the Fireworks from MGM, Epcot and the very top of Wishes if you are in the right place.

The Beach club shows movies on the beach at night and believe anyone is welcome to sit and watch.
I just love everything about the area..It would be no decision for me to switch to such wonderful place and save that much money! I don't think you would be dissapointed.:thumbsup2

The only down is that they don't offer Magical Express, but with the money you save by switching you could rent a car or get a town car!:dance3:

Another thing I love about the area is being able to walk to Spoodles in the morning for breakfast!! It is so good...The waffles with the marscopone(probably spelled wrong) cream cheese are too die for......

I think we are going to book a few nights before Christmas this year.

Hope this helps,
Michelle

I booked this offer a few days ago. I'm getting around the no free Magical Express by booking our first night at a cheaper Disney resort - probably POFQ - and using ME to get to Disney with my luggage being transferred to the Dolphin upon checkout. I'll just have to cover the taxi back to the airport.

We love the Poly but lately because of the overpriced rates that Disney is charging we have chosen the swan with a govt. discount. We love the hotel, the customer service is great, love the pool when we have used it and the swan is the lst bus stop so thats a plus for us, plus its a little more compact so less walking back to the room after a long day in the parks.

Move!

That's a lot of money and the truth is that overall the Swan/Dolphin is probably nicer then the Poly.

Yes you lose the monorail, but you gain much nicer beds!!! And a great location for Epcot and the Studios!

I have been looking at staying there also, my other choices are Poly/Wilderness or Beach club. But the Dolphin really looks liike a nice place to try.

Just wondering, do they use Disney bus system, or their own? Also when you say walking distance to EPCOT and MGM, is it really that close?

S/D shares buses with Beach Club and Boardwalk (and maybe another resort too). However, it's not bad. They are all so close, it's the same as the dropoff time at the huge resorts like CBR or CS. That savings could cover food and tickets!!
