Special Holiday Dinner for DVC members

Is anyone going to the Christmas Eve dinner @ The Contemporary? I want to attend but my husband feels the price is too high.... $89 per person! Has anyone attend this before & was it worth the price?

We already made Christmas Eve dinner plans @ the Yachtsmen's Steak place BUT I would hate to miss out on a great perk from DVC!

They are doing it for Thanksgiving so you can see the reviews. This is the first time I believe.

I saw this today too. I feel it is pricey, but you do get to meet Mickey & Minnie. Several commented that it was too much $$$ for Thanksgiving, but it must have many bookings to offer it for Christmas. And you still have to wait until Thanksgiving for reviews.

This would be great if you couldn't get any ADRs. It would cost ~$230 for my family of 3. Plus drinks an additional cost. Not worth it for what we already have planned for Christmas Eve. We're on the DxDDP, so definitely no value in it for me. I'm thinking In-Room Celebration. My 2 cents.

The dessert seating for the Osborne lights costs $89 for adults, and Disney gets buyers. A friend did it with her family of 4 adults and 2 children and did enjoy it. Thought it was expensive, a 1 time thing, but the children thought it was the best!

I would do a dinner just to try the experience, but the dates do not work for us.. I would like a NYE DVC experience! Something to get out of the major crowd! We have done an Illuminations Cruise, it was pricy, $100 per person, but totally worth it!

We had Schulas booked, switched over to the DVC dinner. I always notice anytime Disney does something like this they go low on the price, so next year it will probably be about $150. - $175. each.

There's a review of the DVC Thanksgiving dinner on the Disboards facebook page, and it is not good. They were very disappointed with it especially for the price. Have you read that review?

We attended the thanksgiving event. It was definitely not worth the money at all. Basic buffet, they were breaking down one of the buffets at 330 when the event was set from 3-5. No ambiance whatsoever. Five
dollars extra for each soda. No service at the table, we cleared our own plates. Very disappointed.

We also went with a group of 9 and couldn't agree more. Very disappointed.

Sounds from the previous posters on this thread, that it's not worth it though.

Thank you all for bringing the subject back around again! I was getting curious about the response to Thanksgiving dinner. Although I am not a Facebook user ANY details would be great! Does anyone think the Christmas Eve dinner might be a little bit better considering they may add entertainment while dining? Hopefully BETTER service as well? If we decide NOT to do Christmas Eve this year maybe next time IF the experience matches the PRICE tag!
