Special gift for mom?

I need suggestions! We lost my dad in May, so we are doing an extended family trip 11/30 - 12/6 at CSR. Kind of a trip in his memory, and also a way to offset the sadness of Thanksgiving. He LOVED WDW. I want to do something special for my mom. She wouldn't enjoy the spa. I'd like to do something just for her, not necessarily the whole family. Any ideas about what to do? CSR is new for us. It doesn't have to be anything over the top. Just a little something to make her smile.

So sorry for your lost.I haven't been to WDW yet but just wanted to say we did something very similar for Christmas 2011 after losing my GD. We took GM to New York City and we had a florist deliver some beautiful flowers to our room and then us girls went out for a really fancy brunch. I know it's not Disney but it's a suggestion anyway. Your family is in my thoughts.

Thank you so much. She has a double whammy around Thanksgiving. First Thanksgiving without him, and first wedding anniversary without him. So nothing better than going to the happiest place on earth

Would she enjoy the tea at the Grand Floridian? They have high tea in the afternoons at the resort. I did this once (by myself) and it was very enjoyable. It would be even more fun with a group - it was relaxing and lovely.

This is a good idea. I go every year with my mom and this is pretty much the only thing she repeatedly requests. It is a good time and just special enough to know that it is just for her.

Dd and I finally got to try the tea last Thanksgiving. We loved it

The menu is on allears. Check it out to see if it is the kind of food she likes but the have an al a cart menu with many choices.

Some other ideas are: carriage ride at POR, sleigh ride at FW, while family at MK maybe just you two go on a shopping tour of CR, POLY, GF and ride the monorail and take a boat ride too. The boat from GF/poly/MK is one of favorite things AND it is FREE.

Hi there , we have a great clock from WDW that we purchased and took home in our travel bag . This would represent the time that Mom and Dad had together and remind us of how precious those moments were. Best of luck finding just the right thing for Mom . Or another idea is to go with her on a carriage ride (I think they are at FWL ). The two of you could reminisce about your dad. That would be an everlasting memory for sure. Whatever you decide I wish you the best. Enjoy your trip and each other !!
