Hi there everyone! Princess Meredith will be turning 6 and celebrating at Cinderella's royal table for lunch and Princess Natalie will be celebrating #5 with the Princess breakfast at Epcot. What can I expect from the rest. as far as them making a big deal over them and what not? I have heard that some places do free cupcakes (????) or mini cakes (????) for birthday guests. Also any other birthday perks I should know about while there this year would be AWESOME!!!!

Birthday, anniversary surprises are hit and miss. First, be sure you get a birthday button when you check in at your resort. Secondly, be sure the birthdays are noted on the ADR when you make them. Third, go expecting nothing and be surprised when/if you get something. At Crystal Palace for my 50th birthday last year and for our anniversary trip this year, they decorated the table with confetti, streamers and I/we got a card signed by all the characters. Almost every place we went we got a slice of cake or something.
For my husband's 50th, nothing was done anywhere we went.

It depends on the time of year, how busy they are and it is at discretion of your server.

The best way to make sure you get a cake/cupcake is to call ahead and order and pay for one. Like the PP said it is hit or miss.

1) Have your anniversary-birthday-honeymoon-etc noted on the ressie or on ADR's.
2) The CM's have a lot of leeway of things to do or not do for you.
3) It simply is a matter of the CM's initiative and how busy they are that day.
4) It also depends upon how much they like you as a guest.
5) Expect nothing and be pleased with any CM activities.
6) Some of the things a CM can do for free are
. . . decorate table with Mickey confetti
. . . best table location
. . . special personalized menu
. . . autographed birthday cards
. . . balloons
. . . gifts for kid's baby teeth
. . . wine or champagne
. . . appetizers
. . . cake
. . . autographed placemats
. . . wine or fruit basket sent to room
. . . flowers sent to room
. . . room upgrades

NOTE: Anyone can get balloons and an autographed card in the room after check-in. Just ask at the Front Desk or Concierge Desk. Based upon availability and scheduling, they may come sooner or later, but they usually come. Also, baskets-gifts-etc cannot be delivered to the room prior to checkin in order to be in the room when the guest gets to the room.

I have been to disney 21 times, several on my bday.Once I got a cupcake. It is not a guarantee. If it means a whole lot to you that they have cake or something, your best bet would be to order it and pay for it, that way you or your kids are not disappointed.Disney Cms do what they can , but nothing is guaranteed.

We are planning on doing CRT for lunch on my DD 6 yrbday. How do I go about requesting the best table? I know that some over look fantasyland and then some..well I have heard..some are just bleh. We are going with a party of 6-3k 3a. I just want everything to be super special! Also are the any tables that I are preferred at Epcot Princess breakfast??

The best you can do is have it noted as a request on your dining ressie and ask again at check-in...also No guarantees with this, they may grant your wish they may not.I know you want everything to be just right. But honestly i did not see any tables there that were god awful, and whatever happens, your kids still get to be at disney for their bdays. As for Akershus, no really great seating, but try to avoid the tables next to the entrance( since they have lots of people waiting there to have their pic taken with Belle)

We ordered a cake but you have to pay for it based on the size you get.

Make sure you ask for a button at the front desk! I think there is a rule or something that all CM's must wish you a happy bday if your wearing a button cause I got it ALL day long. I even had a group of characters stop walking by and come over to wish me a happy bday lol!

And we came home to the resort room with a balloon and picture card autographed by cinderella.

The birthday buttons are a great way of making a birthday extra special :)

disney is now selling special occassion packages as part of their new theme. The packages can be severl hundred dollars and include balloons and room decorations.

I would not be surprised to see the 'freebies' diminished in favor or purchased packages. Disney is a business at the end of the day :)

Agree with PP, if it is your special occassion and you want a special something, plan it and buy it, do not leave it to chance :)
