I have a long time client who loves Disney. He, his wife and 18 year old daughter have several Disney timeshares. They go several times a year. They have probably seen and done "everything" at WDW at least once.

I am looking to give him a unique experience at WDW as a Christmas gift. Something not everyone does, or even knows about. Lodgings or restaurants don't really apply, as he is all set for lodgings, and is not a foodie.

What unique experiences can I give him as a gift? I am looking to spend say from $100 to $300, but would entertain more expensive if it's something amazing.

Thanks for your expert opinions!

I have been visiting WDW since 1972. And like your client I have a DVC membership, which allows me to go down there a couple times a year. Despite my many trips to WDW, I did not take a "back-stage" tour until last year. So you might consider treating your client and his family to one of the back-stage tours of WDW. Like me, he may go frequently, but may never have taken one of the tours.

There's also the Illuminations or WISHES cruise??

BTW...there's a "huge" cabin cruiser, guess about 34', don't remember the name, for rental, with captain & drinks that leaves from the GF for a cruise. Don't know if it runs for WISHES fireworks but worth checking out! :thumbsup2

Need another client?? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

It's called the Grand 1, and you can have dinner aboard. I think you rent it through the Grand Floridian, but I don't know the cost. However, any of the wishes or illuminations cruises would be pretty neat. I think you can stock them with food and drink as well.

I concur with a backstage tour. Here's a description of them: http://www.allearsnet.com/btp/tours.htm

how about lunch with an imagineer? I am in the same boat with my 'date'...this kind gentleman is taking me to disneyworld for a week-long date! I thought the Lunch would be an unusual, nice way to say thank you..something not everyone knows about or does.

You might have time to arrange a Gift of a Lifetime gift. Since each one is an unique experience, they won't have done it yet. It's about in your price range. :thumbsup2

Thanks all, for the replies. The VIP tour, which would allow him to take some of his family members too, sounds especially attractive.

I'd be interested in knowing details of where I could find out about the Gift of a Lifetime or lunch with an Imagineer as well. They sound like they'd be fun.

Cheers.

I second the lunch with an imagineer!!! It was a great experience. I actually wanted to do it for a while but limit myself to one extra per trip. That said, there are 16 Imagineers that do this (no requests or advance notice of Imagineer accommodated) and I clearly need to save for 15 more. If you search there is a theme park thread with details and a partial list of the Imagineers.

What a great gift

Unfortunately the VIP tour is now $125 per hour with a 6 hour minimum. Exceeds even my budget!

I ended up getting a dollar amount of gift certificates to use on the backstage tour of their choice. Actually they could use the certificates on anything Disney, but I'm getting tour info to include with the gift, so I hope they'll take the hint!

Thanks to all for their assistance!
