Special Diets

During character dining can you request meals for special diets? Last time we went I went to 3 character meals, but because of our diets only the kids could eat the food. I do not want to waste the money again. We do not eat anything with sugar, flour, red dye 40, and gluten.

Sure. When you make your dining resevation, mention that you have food allergies. Then, 24 hours before your reservation, contact the restaurant and tell them your needs. Also mention it again when you check in. Disney is great with food allergies. There are several threads about this topic if you do a search.

I go to Disney every year ( this year 2x ) and I require a gluten free diet. I include my dietary needs on my reservation, tell the person at the podium, and my waiter/waitress. They will have a Chef come out and talk to you. The only time I have called in advance, is if there was something special I wanted or I want to see if they can get a certain item in stock for me. Even at Mama Melrose the Chef wrote and said they can usually make any of the fried items gluten free with advance notice. They are excellant with special diets, it is my favorite place to go.
