Special Announcement tomorrow....

I wish that DVC would put half the effort in taking care of problems as they do in marketing.

I wonder if our dues are paying for the contest as a member activity?

:earsboy: Bill
Well if they are, I sure wish they'd make their "announcements" on the Members' website, too!!

Just hope the announcement doesn't start with

"In response to member feedback, and to enhance the ownership experience..."

I agree. All this is doing is giving DVC free stories to use for marketing.

I use no social media so I will not be participating.

Laura

I don't use any type of social media.....no Facebook, Instagram, tweets, etc.

In my opinion, there are too many people who spend way too much time on social media. It's something I choose not to do. And everyone that feels as I do is being penalized. Contests should be open to everyone, not just the people who want the world to know what they do with their "life" every moment of every day. DVC....why not have something for everyone?

They would never pick something that everyone would want. I mean they did label it a Member Challenge. Surely no one would think that a discounted PAP or dining was a "challenge"

I use it all, and honestly probably spend less time on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, than many do on these forums.

I am registered and looking forward to it, as are many others.

Me too!

For the record, the original post on Facebook said nothing about a challenge. I quoted exactly what was posted, "Stop by tomorrow for a special Members Only announcement!"

It's something I choose not to do.

The above is the key part of your statement, though. Assuming you live in an eligible territory, you CAN participate. You simply CHOOSE not to.

Whether a contest entry involves filling out a website form, "tweeting" photos or dropping a hand-written contest entry in the mail, people can either choose to participate or not.

Personally I'm not blown away by the concept but these social media platforms are very popular today. I'm sure participation will be much higher than if members were asked to fill out an entry form and mail it in.

This is a Very Special Official Announcement: I owe Quirty 30 a huge apology for doubting what he saw and a Huge Thanks for helping me to find out that there is a back door, little known way for Admins on Professional Facebook pages to edit the text associated with a photo.

This has driven me crazy on my own buisness page and I am glad I found out.

Thanks Quirty30 and believe me, it had nothing to do with your account and more to do with my frustration lately with Facebook over this very issue.

No worries. And thanks :)

I know what you mean about Facebook. Even on my personal account, it will let me edit a comment I make on someone else's page, but I swear it won't let me edit my own status (I'm pretty sure I have to delete and start over.)
