Bob, Glad you had a good trip, Want to buy a Canal Lot????
He said it should be feeling better all the time, but about 2 weeks. He said it is also really common to injure it again in about a month or so.
The bad news is that I likely fractured a rib and maybe tore muscles with the coughing. I'm trying to take it easy now (those that know me know how hard that's going to be), but the pain killers make it easierI slept 10 hours last night!
My oldest just started playing lacrosse this year (he's 17). Now my 15 year old is going to play. It's not a recognized team sport here, so we have to go the club route, very expensive. It's a bore. We traveled two hours away for a JV game. There aren't enough teams to play. They love it though, so I don't want to discourage them.
I did get your PM. It has been a rough week so I haven't responded. Got one other one too. I've been sick with a sinus infection since I got back from WDW. Lots of sneezing and coughing. Last Wednesday I got a pain in my right side which progressively got worse. Friday, I couldn't stand straight up the pain was so great. I called the doctor and they suggested I go to the Emergency room instead of the clinic. After some tests and xrays, the good news was that I didn't have anything wrong with my appendix or gallbladder and my lungs looked fine. The bad news is that I likely fractured a rib and maybe tore muscles with the coughing. I'm trying to take it easy now (those that know me know how hard that's going to be), but the pain killers make it easierI slept 10 hours last night!

Tracy,
Please make sure you take it easy!
Pretty much the same here but we wear the school uniform. We still pay to play but the school is now providing buses, which is a big step. We pay the coaches salaries and we have 5 coaches between JV and Varsity. Laxlad is 17 also. He has been playing for 3 years. Every year there are more teams popping up. We now play 14-16 games per season; usually 2 per week. Some schools don't have JV - only varsity. It is great when they find something to be pationate about. It is a great sport.
The NCAA tournament is going on right now on ESPNU. Today, OSU plays Duke and Notre Dame plays Syracuse. Great lacrosse!! If you don't get ESPNU, next weekend ESPN will televise the semi's and the finals are on Memorial Day. That is some heavy duty lacrosse!! It is really physical and fast paced at that level. A lot of heavy hitting and great goals scored! Last week the OSU goalie took the ball all the way to Cornell's net!
Thanks for the great info! We're still a newbie family, but learning quickly! Our team wears the school uniform too but we make our payments to some odd team name.
I just go along with it, as I said, we're still learning.
From what I've heard, it was a big deal that our school actually let them practice and play games on the school's field. Our head coach is pushing the school district to add it as a sport but I don't know the particulars on when/if that will happen.
What I found very frustrating this past year was that the schedule was so unorganized. One day, we'd get an email that we were going here for a JV game, the next day, another email would come through saying no JV game this week. Two days later, there was indeed a JV game that day, but at a totally different school. It drove me crazy! I'd love to become more involved and help out the team mom but I would hate to be the one having to send those emails out confusing the heck out of everyone. I never did figure out where exactly the break was in the information chain, but it was definitely annoying!
I agree about it being great that the kids have found something they're passionate about. Neither of my sons have been into any organized sports at all, though we've tried quite a few along the way. It's great to see them dedicated and enthusiastic!
Mom says thank you to everyone for her DCL Birthday wishes.
For you that don't know the story of my Mom's DCL birthday...on the DCL Panama Canal cruise in 2005....Disney had on their manifest that it was my Mom's birthday during our sailing....but it wasn't....you see my Mom's birthday is August 4...but our head server said that Disney advised him it was her birthday and even though it wasn't...I was to pick a day and we would celebrate because they already had set aside a cake for my Mom....I picked May 18 because it was tropical night on the cruise and I knew all our tablemates would be there...so that is how Mom has come to have two birthdays a year...her DCL birthday on May 18 and her "real" birthday on August 4.
