I did get your PM. It has been a rough week so I haven't responded. Got one other one too. I've been sick with a sinus infection since I got back from WDW. Lots of sneezing and coughing. Last Wednesday I got a pain in my right side which progressively got worse. Friday, I couldn't stand straight up the pain was so great. I called the doctor and they suggested I go to the Emergency room instead of the clinic. After some tests and xrays, the good news was that I didn't have anything wrong with my appendix or gallbladder and my lungs looked fine. The bad news is that I likely fractured a rib and maybe tore muscles with the coughing. I'm trying to take it easy now (those that know me know how hard that's going to be), but the pain killers make it easier :rotfl: I slept 10 hours last night!

Get well soon!

So, so funny! I wouldn't expect anything else from you though :lmao: :lmao:

As for documents, if you book on your own, you will have gotten a confirmation from Disney for every change that you make to your reservation. The planning kit will come to you too directly as will the travel documents (about 10-14 days prior).

If you used a TA, you won't likely get any confirmations from Disney. The planning kit may come directly to you or to your TA. The documents will come the same way that the planning kit comes. We used AAA before and they got everything first. With Dreams Unlimited, everything goes to us directly.

Some people don't get planning kits for whatever reason (I didn't get one for my Mediterranean cruise when everyone else did and then when I switched my booking, I got two). It's fun to get but it is not necessary.

I booked over a year ago and my cruise is paid off. When should I get my paperwork? We are first time cruisers, does that make a difference? I did use a TA so I guess they will be sent to her.

You can check with the TA to see if the documents will come to her first or not. If the documents do go to her first, tell her that you expect to be getting a planning kit from DCL and you would like her to forward it to you when it comes.

Being paid off early gives you no advantage with DCL - not for early booking, upgrades, waitlists, etc.

We booked thru Dreams and we were given a DCL confirmation # in addition to a Dreams #. You can go to DCL's website and pull your ressie up online. This info should be in your original confirmation from Dreams.

I wouldn't worry too much about this booklet thing. You may still get it this week. You know snail mail....;) There really isn't anything in there that isn't posted on the DCL website anyway. The only thing is the special event itinerary with Pirate Night and Formal Night which has already been posted here.

Have a great day all!! Hope you are feeling better, Tracy. Wow, you're getting ready to turn 40? That explains it then. 40 is in my rear view mirror and that is about when all the fun starts!!

This will be our 10th Disney Cruise and we haven't gotten our planning kit yet. It sounds like only a few have gotten them so far so I definitely wouldn't worry. :goodvibes

Yes, 40 is just around the corner! I'm looking forward to it though. My allergies are the root of any health troubles - mostly just sneezes and coughs - so I can't complain too much.

Happy Morning Everyone!

Tracy, keep getting better!

Don't worry about getting documents this early in the game. Our cruise is still a ways off.

Has anyone staying int he Concierge or Romance Package booked there Palo or excursions yet?

We booked Palo, Flounder's and some spa stuff yesterday. The only thing that annoyed me is that when we booked well being massages, the only times available were 5:45pm and 7pm everynight, and Nassau morning at 8am. Seems unlikely that every other time was taken. :confused3 A couple of Palo times were unavailable, 10am brunch (or was it 10:30?), and 2 dinner slots, one at 7:30pm and another at 8:30. When I went back to change our Palo dinner to another day, the 7:30pm slot was open. :confused3

I'm not concerned about it at all, just seems a little off to me as we've never had that experience booking at 105 days out (or even 90 days out).

Do they only release so many ressies for booking? If that is the case, I would keep checking for times. More things may open up at the 90 day mark. I have never had a problem getting the times that I wanted at that point.

Last cruise, I even checked the time of sunset and the time we left Nassau and timed our ressie at Palo. It was our 25th anniversary. We had a beautiful view of Nassau at sunset as we left the dock. Yea, the sunset was the opposite direction but the light played off the buildings so nice.

Yes, they do release only so many for each booking window. Otherwise for some of the popular cruises for repeat cruisers, new cruisers would get nothing at 75 days and those without internet access (:scared1: ) would also get nothing. They hold back some reservations completely until we get onboard.

Hi everyone! I know I haven't posted in FOREVER. Life has been a bit crazy over the past few months - since November really. Between work and health, my personal computer has started to gather dust!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I had to make the most horrible decision of all. Yes - I had to cancel. :sad2:  Christina has had some tough challenges in school this year. With all the school she missed in kindergarten (I swear - it wasn't ALL cruises), she was behind entering first grade. Mid-year we thought she'd be held back. Well, we finally got her test scores two weeks ago and she made it into 2nd grade!  :cheer2: Unfortunately, this also means that I can't take her out of school for a whole week in September. Our school starts August 18th, so by Labor day week, they'd be in the thick of things.

I'm just  over the whole thing. I can't believe that we'll miss seeing everyone. I can't believe I'm stuck taking vacation during school breaks! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

To make it worse - I got my planning booklet yesterday evening. I wanted to cry...

So - have a GREAT time on this cruise and send me lots of pictures when you get back. I'll be looking for that live thread!

Sue

Sue, So Sorry, we will miss your and we do understand.

Tracy, if you think 40 will be rough, wait till 50 LOL

Been on the road working, tired and have lots of OT, I guess that is good, I know Lynn has been busy at home working on the basement.

Next weekend is the Bolder Boulder 10K eace, should be fun and interesting.

Enjoy the day I have about 435 miles to drive to get home.

Oh I forgot , formal for me will be a shirt and tie, and every night id Tropical except Pirate Night

Safe Travels Scott! Wow! That's some drive.

Palo's/Tea + Brunch... for those of you who were able to book early... will there bw a brunch + a tea on this cruise?

Thanks :goodvibes

Sue... CONGRATS on your daughter's progress. There will be more cruises, but only one special little girl ;) So sad you won't be joining us.

There is a brunch and high tea only on the day at sea (I thought they might do a second brunch on the 2nd day at CC but no).

Sue I was thinking about you today. We will miss you, Christina and Nana in September, that's for sure!

Sue
So sorry to hear that you had to cancel. :sad1: We'll miss seeing you and Christina! (and Nana too of course!) Glad to hear that she's doing well though.. that's the most important thing. Give her a big hug from us okay!!

Safe travels Scott... hopefully good weather will be with you :)

I received the planning booklet from Disney for the cruise, and we were all pretty excited to read it :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I was wondering, will we have the character breakfasts on this trip - anyone know? The info about these breakfasts was included in the booklet, but it was a general planning booklet for the Magic and since this is a 5 day cruise I wondered if the breakfasts would happen.

Perhaps I will give a call to Disney and see what they say. Thanks to anyone who can provide info.

We are going more semi-formal too: We figured with airline restrictions, and the fact that it is only 5 nights (:sad1: ), we would be more casual than usual on this cruise.

Hi everyone! Well I know I am a little behind, but I found our site. I will be cruising this special cruise with my DH, DS(9) and DS(2) along with another couple with two boys! My DH booked this cruise on our October 2007 Magic as a surprise...on our last Disney cruise my DS (2) fractured his femur and we had to be air evac'd out of Cozumel. Some of you may have seen my many many posts about the necessity of travel insurance! I will share more if yal are interested. I missed Castaway Cay all together so I am very excited to spend not one but two days there! We are going to try it again, hopefully without any injuries. I'm praying! I look forward to meeting all of you and sign me up for the cabin tour!

I think I remember seeing there would not be a character breakfast but I'm not sure. And I completely forgot to ask when I called the Cruise Line today.
After the cruise line finialy fixing my reservation I was able to book Palo today!! We booked ours for the last night at 8:30. A little late but we didn't want to miss the show that would be playing that night. Now we are just trying to figure out what excursions to do.
