Okay...it looks like it will be another couple of weeks until my bedroom is all completed.....we had a "bit" of a decorating disaster today.....Mom and I finally put up the border in my bedroom....and I hated it....it was just way too busy with my bedspread I bought.....so tonight we were back to Lowes to find a new border.....which we *think* we found. The only problem now is that I have to re-paint my walls because we tried to wash off the paste residue from the border but you can still see some marks on the wall...so it looks like I will be re-painting my walls this weekend....then I have to wait again for the paint to "cure" before I can put up my border....I sure hope Mom's likes her border once it goes up because I don't think I could take having to re-paint her room too!!!!

oh yeah....Happy Victoria Day weekend to all my fellow Canadians!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Make sure you get all that stuff off. We painted after a similar experience and the area now has collected dust even though it was painted. Like it stuck to some paste we didn't get off. The light was really bad in the bath that we were working in and we didn't see that we hadn't gotten it all until it was too late.

Bob, Your lunch looks good. For sure.

Got the South bedrrom mudded adn taped, off to lowes after lunch, Schrubbery time.

Bob, that movie was a long tiem ago , at least we can remember a fewe things, like how things were LOL.....

If the wind dies down we might have a winnie roast tonight.

Yes I am looking forward to seeing all my DCL play buddies.

This is not imitation fish. We enjoyed good seafood all week. Grouper.

This was at a place called the Island Cow on Sanibel.

Loved the Island Cow when we were there. Have you been to the Bubble Room on Captiva? Dessert like none other.......

It was a beautiful day here today. Upper 70's. We had our first t-ball game. We should have started a couple of weeks ago but it has just been too wet. It was comical. I think my son will be the class clown when he starts school.

Bob and Lee, we had to take one of our beagles to the vet last Saturday. She wouldn't eat or come out of her kennel. It's a good thing we took her. They took x-rays and she had an intestinal blockage. She had eaten a leash. They surgically removed it. She has about a 4 inch cut on her belly but she is doing wonderful in spite of it all. She's getting a little spoiled. That's okay though. She's my favorite. Her name is Daisy.

Hope everyone's having a great weekend!

Aww. I am so glad Daisy is ok. Ate a leash? Worse thing mine have done is eat paper.

I think we may be in the same area, incredibly wet spring here. We only had 3 lacrosse games all season that were not played in the rain. Of course, no thunder or lightning; they call it for that. Just good and soggy!

:wave2: Howdy neighbor, Allen and I will be just 6 doors down (6594) from you and Joe. A month ago we weren't sure if we were going to be able to go, but everything looks like it's going to work out. This is our first time with a balcony - and we're leaving our boys behind. :woohoo: We're really excited about this cruise - OK, I'm the excited one, Allen is just happy to be going. Looking forward to meeting all of you and seeing, Tracy, Bill, Elaine & Margaret again.:thumbsup2

Hi back to you neighbor :thumbsup2 We can't wait 'til this cruise, but I'm glad we have the summer to look forward to too.

Elaine! What a bummer... you were so close to finishing too. I know it will look just great. Can't wait to see your pictures.

Oh My! A little doggie eating a leash! I would have been frantic! So glad you got her fixed up good as new.

Bob! Safe travels! So glad you lvoed your vacation. The food looks GREAT.

Scott + Lynn, you're really working hard! Can' wait to see your pictures.

Joe and I are doing good. We're finally getting back into the swing of life again. Work has been very stressful, but things back at home are calming down a bit!:goodvibes Our friend is really excited about the cruise. THis group will really break him in!!! :rotfl2:

Alligator at Mouse Beach Note: Our neighbor called the other day. We had an alligator in our pond out back. While I wasn't really thrilled with him being there, hHe didn't really bother anyone, and always sunned himself way over on the far side. Well, evidently, someone brought "flathead", my name for the alligator, to the attention of the authorities. They came, stuck 4 hooks into him and dragged him up on the beach. Said he was vicious, hit him on the side of the head and then whacked his head off. :scared1: My goodness! I was shocked at the violence. I thought flathead would have been taken to another location and released. My neighbor was sick about it. Truth be told, another one will probably come and take his place. I do feel better now that he isn't there, but I was disturbed at the inhumane way of his demise.

Same here! We are just north of you in Centerville and very rainy this spring! My son plays lacrosse also and I have sat in the rain quite a few times! FUN!

My beagle ate a gold tinsel-type Christmas garland --a lot of it -- but luckily it all came out the normal way instead of causing a blockage . . .

Glad your leash-eating beagle is fine now.

I don't think our guys know how to play in fair weather!! Does he play for Centerville? Mine plays for Kings. We may cross paths on the field some day!! Oldest son marched - your band is phenominal!

My son is 13 and plays for DLC-Dayton lacrosse Club. THis is his first year and loves it! Actually Centerville HS just got their team this year, my son will go to Alter HS and they will have their team next year. Just in time for him to start high school! Dayton is a little behind Cincy when it comes to Lacrosse. You are right Centerville's band is awesome! I have a cousin who has 2 boys at Kings HS. Small world!

How cool! We played Dayton when Laxlad was in 8th grade - 2 years ago. We haven't had a program that long. The bigger schools - and of course private ones have - it has been played here for 6 years. We just got a 4-5th grade team this season and they played 3 games. Last year was the first that our guys could earn a letter.

You'll have to pm me their names. It would be weird if we knew them!! It is a small world.

I actually work in Lebanon. We used to be stationed at Wright Patt and lived there for 5 years quite a long time ago.

Sent you an email, Are those your adorable puppies by the way?

Second one from the left is. We got him up in Bellefontaine; actually DeGraff. He is such a cutie!

My oldest just started playing lacrosse this year (he's 17). Now my 15 year old is going to play. It's not a recognized team sport here, so we have to go the club route, very expensive. It's a bore. We traveled two hours away for a JV game. There aren't enough teams to play. They love it though, so I don't want to discourage them.

good evening everyone! Just got home from San diego, man it was so hot! Winotracy did you every get my pm about linked dinning.

I did get your PM. It has been a rough week so I haven't responded. Got one other one too. I've been sick with a sinus infection since I got back from WDW. Lots of sneezing and coughing. Last Wednesday I got a pain in my right side which progressively got worse. Friday, I couldn't stand straight up the pain was so great. I called the doctor and they suggested I go to the Emergency room instead of the clinic. After some tests and xrays, the good news was that I didn't have anything wrong with my appendix or gallbladder and my lungs looked fine. The bad news is that I likely fractured a rib and maybe tore muscles with the coughing. I'm trying to take it easy now (those that know me know how hard that's going to be), but the pain killers make it easier :rotfl: I slept 10 hours last night!

Sorry to hear how badly you have been feeling, Tracy! How long do they think it will take to heal that broken rib?

He said it should be feeling better all the time, but about 2 weeks. He said it is also really common to injure it again in about a month or so.

Good Morning All! :wave2:
Beautiful morning here in the heartland. Getting back to normal.
Had to check out the hot tub and make sure it still worked.:goodvibes
Ahhh. Everything greened up so much in the last week. Smells wonderful.
Got back last evening. Uneventful. Lee was surprised when we got home...
Belle was waiting for us. :dogdance: My son picked her up at the vet.

Our next vacation is this one. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Bob! Safe travels! So glad you lvoed your vacation. The food looks GREAT.
Sounds like you've been in our neck of the woods. We live in Fort Myers! We love the Island Cow! :woohoo:

The food was great all week. The scales told me that this morning.:scared1:
We kinda stumbled upon the Island Cow by accident. But glad we did.
The food was great and so was the service.
Did not make it to Captiva. Sounds like we should have.
We decide that our next (non-Disney) Florida trip will be to the same area.
Thinking about Bocca Grande. So we will try to visit Captiva.

We had a wonderful trip. Had great weather. Got to see a lot of wildlife that we don't see up here. Gators, tortoises, birds and dolphins.

We met a lot of nice people. About our age. From different parts of the country. Lots of suggestions about moving to that area.:lmao:

Sorry to hear about Daisy. Hope she is doing fine now.
It is amazing what Beagles will eat.
I may have told this story before, so all of you oldtimers bear with me.
Our previous Beagle, Tippy, was notorious for eating....almost anything.
(Tippy at 15)
When she was about 6 months old, she ate half of a german chocolate cake.
The vet said it could have killed her.
After we had the deck installed, she crawled underneath it and ate about 5 pounds of pea gravel. She passed them with the help of cat hairball grease.
As she got older, she got smarter about what she was supposed to eat.
She always had a great appetite. Even on the day she passed on at age 16.
