I wonder if they will make us pay for all day on Saturday, if we get the car out of the lot before the our original drop off time on Monday? Either way, we'll probably leave it there.

5 NIGHT cruise = 5X15 = $75 would be my guess.

I got alot of packing done last weekend, when Scott did not want to work on the basement, so I feel pretty organized - still a few things to throw in!

We did that our last cruise and yes it is alot of money but it was so convenient to get off the boat and have the car waiting for you!

Ken (KPROS) was just on board July 27th and they rebooked on board and they got the 1/2 deposit on board booking discount.

So I believe you can get it on board. We could have Tracy double check since she is on the ship?

Tracy said before she left that the 1/2 deposit was available on board

That is good news because Laxdad just said ok to rebooking!! I didn't even have to beg!!

On a side note, just read on another thread that the Wonder is sailing from Ft. Lauderdale on Thursday. I have never paid this close of attention so I have been checking everything. They still want everyone to park at Pt. Canaveral and they will transport all passengers arriving via Disney Transportation and private vehicle to Ft. Lauderdale because the ship will return to PC on Sunday. Now back to your regularly schedule postings!

Only 6 more working days before my vacation. We have a public holiday in UK on Monday and for once I do not have to work on it.
I nearly had kittens at work today. I work for an airline and found out that the baggage handlers at our local airport will be on strike two days over the next two weeks. I got very worried. I am so excited about this vacation. Fortunately for us the dates have now been confirmed as August 27th and September 1st. We are flying out on August 31st so we should be OK.

ARGH!! I got one of the more experienced Cast Members when I called so I had no reason to doubt her. She put me on hold to double check too.

That's so funny...once when DD10 was about 6 or so, she and I flew somewhere from our local airport. We left our van parked at the airport for the time we were gone.

When we got back, and got back to the van, DD says "They didn't do a good job of cleaning the van!" I looked her like , and she said, "you said you have to pay them money to take care of our van, shouldn't they have to keep it clean too?"

Great! You may have to overlook my DH though. I'm the one who is all into the whole DIS thing and meeting people. To quote the wife in RV, "We are NOT friendly." I once wounded him by admitting that sometimes I'm a little jealous of the women on here whose hubbies are just as excited by Disney as they are. He tolerates it because he loves me.

Thanks to everyone who added our room numbers to the various lists.

We should get along just fine! DH is not the Disney fan that I am ..... He leaves the DIS to me and just goes with the flow. I do the planning and tell him when and where!! As for the grass skirt...he will have it on! Many of our friends from previous cruises will too so it will be fun. The first time he wore it I could tell he was a little embarrassed but it didnt take long to warm up to the idea when he saw all the other men in theirs.

On the 2006 DVC Member Cruise, we heard rumors that we might port at Ft. Lauderdale. Well, we were at Castaway Cay. The weather was beautiful, no wind, and just a great day. Got on the ship and there was a letter under our door that Pt. Canaveral had been closed and that we were going into Ft. Lauderdale.

DCL had everything arranged. They opened up their "new" terminal in Ft. Lauderdale and the buses were there and you could go to the airport, the port, or WDW. I went on line and changed our car reservation from Pt. Canaveral to Ft. Lauderdale and we just rode the DCL bus over to the airport and picked up our car and headed up the turnpike to WDW. The only difference was had we gotten off in Pt. Canaveral we would have been in the parks by 10 a.m. or so. We got to Orlando at 1:30 p.m., went to Old Key West and got to the parks about 2:30. The weather in Orlando was cloudy, but never got the storm there.

I felt kinda bad for the people getting on the ship to leave that Thursday though. I would be surprised if the ship was able to leave much before 8 p.m. because the buses were dropping off people at WDW resorts and then reloading them to haul the people all the way to Ft. Lauderdale. So I bet their sailaway and first night dinner was a bummer! And, only a 3 night cruise.......

I do have to say DCL is prepared when they have to change plans. Alot of cruise lines are not that prepared.

I was just looking around DCL website, is the half off deposit honored for onboard rebooking? I spoke before I thought.....again.

Will find out the answer to the half deposit ?

Ok, need more pixie dust here!!! I am doing much better. Little episode last night but better today. Found out that my son's friend who is cruising with us has a severe sore throat and temp. Did a strep test but no results yet! I can just see this going thru his family and ours. Here's hoping that it is just a bug and it ends there!
