Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about aging that you think in fractions.

'How old are you?' ' I'm four and a half!' You're never thirty-six and a half. You're four and a half, going on five! That's the key.

You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead.

'How old are you?' 'I'm gonna be 16!' You could be 13, but hey, you're gonna be 16! And then the greatest day of your life ! You become 21. Even the words sound like a ceremony. YOU BECOME 21. YESSSS!!!

But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk! He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There's no fun now, you're Just a sour-dumpling. What's wrong? What's changed?

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40. Whoa! Put on the brakes, it's all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH 50 and your dreams are gone.

But wait!!! You MAKE it to 60. You didn't think you would!

So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to 60.

You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it's a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday!

You get into your 80's and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30; you REACH bedtime. And it doesn't end there. Into the 90s, you start going backwards; 'I Was JUST 92.'

Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. 'I'm 100 and a half!'
May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!

HOW TO STAY YOUNG
1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them.'

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever, even ham radio. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.' And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love , whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge .

8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them , at every opportunity.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER :
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away .

We are touring the Castle at 6:20 so we can't go either! Darn Castle! Why does it have to draw me in! Andy, one of these days... we will be at the same place at the same time! BTW, the support group misses you!

I may have posted 6:20 but i think i goofed my tour is at 4:20....

We would not miss a chance to meet the Verandah man we have chatted and talked on the phone .. but not met in person!

Niftysquirt, I sure hope all is well with you. Keep that foot elevated! Maybe some Aleve would help; it has an anti inflam in it. Ice is your best friend right now!!

Still have to find someone to mind the pups while we are gone. I have never boarded them and I don't want to start now. Hopefully by the end of today, we will have that covered - the last detail. I asked a friend and she is going to get back with me.

usually a couple of nights at the Boardwalk DVC does the trick.

sorry i was out of computer touch for a week and seem to have missed a lot....

tour can be anytime - either before or after....
right now i only have the following signed up - (if you are new to the board or just got your assignment or i am missing your name and you want to open up your room let me know)

Cat 9- possible - due to scrapbook conflict - mickey&joshnut
Cat 6 twins mom
cat 4 cathy 2 and/or nhpgator
cat 1 winotracy and hygeinne - end stop at 1:30

anyone want to fill in any spots (cat 12, 11, 10, 8, 7 navigator, 3, 2,)
......if not then we could start at 12:30 (end of scrapbooking) and be at end of tour by 1:30 = I would like to add some more rooms (see above)- so let me know.....

and send some pixie dust this way - to keep hurricane fay at bay -

ok not that i didn't just post or anything ...but do we have a list of DIS events - like our own little navigator - there is so much going on that for a blonde ADHD girl like me - i think i have lost track of most of it....

ie we're meeting for a sail away with coconuts and grass skirts - i think we're wearing both of these things and maybe drinking out of one of them....

then we're scrapbooking, maybe pajama partying, eating, lunching (then again maybe not) touring, drinking, lusting after winotracy and hygeinnes' room, standing in line for pins in our pajamas, partying like pirates, I think there's a volleyball game now too, holy schmolly...someone help this poor blonde out....

really - any help in organzing my life so i don't miss out on what looks like it may be the best vacation ever!!!

Fay wil be long gone before our trip. Looks like it's due for our area (Tampa) sometime Tue evening. Depends on which "track" it follows to see if we get any strong winds or if it's just a rain event...

we'll know more on Monday

i'm in tampa too.... my husband wants the storm - he sells dewatering equipment - so it is good for his business, i work at a school - so it is crazy for our world since we start school monday---we'll see what happens

monday would be my daughters first day at K5 - she would probably think it was cool - go to school for a day then get a day off!!!

anyway = here's hoping Cuba weakens it and it is just some much needed rain!

I have been MIA here for so long. 1st I went on the Mexican Riviera cruise and now I'm about to board the Magic for the Panama Canal Repo.

All I've managed to do for this cruise is get all my FE gifts and check-in on line.

There is no way to catch up on what you all have been doing.

We'll take good care of the Magic and be there waiting to greet all of you!!!

Let's see if I can get this right...

What we want is rain,
enough to flood some unprepared businesses (who can buy your husbands equipment)
but not enough to do any real damage to the homes in the area,
not enough wind to toss the lawn furniture in the pool,
and not enough to have school cancelled for the day,
and not enough to make school pick-up miserable,
but enough to releive the bad weather mojo...

Peter, why don't you just hide the lanyards in the Dream Suite and let our DIS cruisers pick them up as they tour?


DD was invited to try out for the JV Volleyball team (even though she is a Freshman). She did not make the JV team and was heartbroken. She is on the Freshman team !!! Her new coach does not believe in any missed practices (I wonder if she is related to my new boss), so the decision to cruise is hers to make.

I have been watching tv this morning and have watched a travel special about the Atlantis Resort and the hour long Disney Cruise Line show. I am getting so excited. Just 2 weeks and 2 days.

And to top things off, I am going to Disneyland tomorrow.

Safe travels to all of those getting on the ship in the morning/afternoon.

I usually head for the VB court at the "posted time" generally 3-5 folks show up, but I have had a few trips where it was a wash out. If at least 4 show up, we'll have a game! Some of us older folks may be wheezing so much that the Bahamas government may investigate a "wind event" but we'll have a game just the same...

1) Any ideas on a Dis meet at the World, the night before the cruise?

and No standing in line at the dream suite does not count! we will be there for 6:20 PM
I will have my lanyard on!



2) Would we like to have a Dis volleyball match on Castaway Cay ?
If so what day and time? (Jenn Love's VB)
I Say CBS VS. GSF
Or something like that, deck 6 Vs Deck 2 ???

3) Just a friendly reminder to the lurker out there, If you wish to get on the roster, (That will get you on, oh 3 or 4 lists for different things..

4) Pleae take a lookc at the roster ( click link in my signature) to make sure we have your cabin number .. only like 9 or so cabins that we dont..


If you are leaving this week for the world or close by the world (MH) have a safe trip.. When you get there give that Woman a hug for me!
