Hi everyone! Kevin is in the hospital for his hernia surgery now. They have started his IV but haven't taken him back yet. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers today. The wait is the hardest part I'm sure.

So glad you got to get to the World before Kevin's surgery. Prayers are coming your way. Stay strong. The wait is the hardest part. :grouphug:

Joe's brother is in surgery now for collapsed veins. They .have to replace them. Recovery is supposed to be very painful. Prayers needed in NJ also. Thanks!
:goodvibes

Prayers on the way to Jersey. Hope all goes well. The wait is KILLING me. Kevin too. He's ready to get it over with.

I just called the hospital to get information on my brother in law.

He came out of surgery a few minutes ago. The vein replacement was a success, and he now has a pulse in his legs.

No more smoking again ever and walking a mile a day are his new prescriptions!

It's great to have this phase out of the way. Now on to recovery. Thank-you for your prayers.:flower3:

that's great news Georgie! I hope the recovery goes well. :grouphug:

Just wanted to add our prayers for Kevin and Joe's brother. Glad to hear the surgery went well. I've been after my brother to stop smoking for years - finally have him using Commit (nice being a retiree from the drug company that makes this - I get quite a discount!).

PIT (hope you don't mind me calling you that!) I saw on the weddings board that you're looking into a vow renewal! We did an intimate in 2004. I look forward to meeting you and hearing your plans!

Kevin is out of surgery. It was only supposed to last 40 min but it took 4 1/2 hours. There were major complications. Everytime the surgeon would try to pull the tube out of Kevs throat he would cough and bust his stitches again. They finally had to give him a spinal (to stop him from being able to cough) and finish up. He is in severe pain and I am a wreck. You have no idea how scary it is to hear 'Mrs Back, there were complications'. He will likely be admitted to the hospital for a few days. Please continue to pray for us.

Prayers and a speedy recovery to Tink's Kevin and Georgie's BIL.

Speaking of vow renewals, I updated my signature with our vow renewal photos.

Thanks everyone. Its been a long tough day. I hope it gets better soon, but Kevin isn't getting enough oxygen. So they have him on oxygen and whenever they try to take it off his level drops below 90 (like 65!) which apparantly is not good.

Someone mentioned a vow renewal, yes we are planning a big one for 2010 at WDW. Should be a blast.

Right now I just want to cry. :( This morning before they wheeled Kev off for surgery he asked if we could just forget all this and go back to WDW. I wish.

Kev and Cin

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I now how scared you are right now. It will get better. I wish we could be there to help you. Take care and let us know if we can do anything. Keep your chin up.

Sending some Disney Magic :wizard:

Kristie, Michael, and Ashley

Thank you so much Kristie! I really appreciate it. I hope they let him go home tomorrow. Not sure yet though. I am going on very little sleep at this point, I am hungry, tired, and cranky.

Keeping Kevin in our prayers. Hope things improve so that he can go home soon.

Hi all. Kevin is finally off the oxygen mist mask. They had been having problems keeping his ox level up after surgery. He's better now, just in pain. I wanted them to set up a morphine pump but they are giving him loratab and tylenol. Whatever, but lorotab makes him sick to his stomach.
He has been awake all night long. I slept on the hospital cot (funfun). We are HOPING that we get to go home today. Kevin wants to park himself in the cushy chair infront of his big screen.
Thank you all for your thoughts prayers and words of encouragement. The worst is over we hope.

Good to hear he's doing better today Cyndi. I hope all continues to improve.

:grouphug:
