I can't believe that at 18 mos out it is over half booked, actually almost fully booked!

Well we still have a reservation for a Cat 11 thru dvc.

So there is one room not spoken for - 7119

Still cant believe DVC has not found out how many points cabins will be for the 08 schedule!!! :confused3

Sharon - I believe that you posted that you like September cruises.

Can you tell us why? for us Sept. cruise novices? what can we expect weather wise in your experience?

everyone else feel free to chime in - I am just hoping for warmer and sunnier than our Dec. cruise. It was really too cold to go into the water on the first CC day. The kids did the sting ray encounter then and they didn't want to walk out to the platforms.

thanks.

We cruised 18 days last September. Our first time to Castway Cay the water was like bath water!! :goodvibes We almost always cruise end of August through October. Love the rates!

It is annoying that the point count is not out yet. popcorn:: I never thought of calling Members services for ressies though. I guess some people called for the repo. and got reservations fairly quickly so I will keep it in mind if I ever go on a really popular cruise.

ok gang - let's up that post count - we seem to be slowing down.

We got buried yesterday. So I am going to throw a question out. I know a lot of people are doing the repo. and a lot of us will travel the weekend before so has anyone thought of what there plans are for the night or two before the cruise?? I am hoping for some pixiedust: because I want to get a 2 bedroom savannah view at the new Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas.:cloud9: It will be a long shot. I am hoping though since it is one night and it is September....:flower:

I am assuming that you also like the better weather too then? because the rates are also good in Dec/Jan right.

so maybe we will not do excursions and just plan on lots of beach time? what excursions do you recommend on CC for young kids (age 7)?

thanks so much for helping me work through this.

I'm figuring that since it will be Labor day weekend that we will need to travel by wed/thursday to avoid the madness. We will probably spend it at WDW - maybe just hang out at the pool and start our tans and not do too much park time. I would think that Labor day weekend will be busy - especially saturday night at the resorts - we are not DVC. AKL is wonderful - I know the villas will be too.

In December, we stayed for 2 nites in Cocoa Beach and did our last minute shopping, pedicure, hair etc. and a little beach time. I found this great to wind down from all the packing craziness at home - or am I the only one who gets crazed?

Wow! I work 12 hour shifts Fri-Sun so I've been away and wow, lots of new folks. Welcome! I don't know about the rest of you but I'm ready to leave now. I'm going to have to plan another vacation that will get here sooner, so I don't go crazy...

I plan on working Sat and driving to Orlando on Sunday ( hopefully to AKL ) and having a nice relaxing day before heading off to the port. The nice thing about working Fri-Sun is I'll have all week to prepare to leave and I'll probably take Friday off, too.

Crazed Me??:crazy2: I will be in a panic. I can't stop thinking of what I have to plan now!:rotfl:

I know I am so happy I get to go on the Wonder in May. That should help tide me over, then WDW in December....:cloud9: It won't be so bad if we do not get into AKV we will be at the Boardwalk as an alternative.:flower1:

Good Morning! :sunny:
I'm not sure what we'll be doing yet. I'm afraid my kids will have a cross country meet the Saturday before, so we'll probably fly in to MCO on Saturday night or Sunday and just stay in Cocoa Beach until Monday. Our school will have already started so we'll probably spend the weekend doing missed work. :guilty: But at least we won't have to worry about it (hopefully) when we get back. :thumbsup2

Won't be posting much today. Madigan (dd2) has picked up some sort of flu bug and is christening the rooms of our house one way or another. And Graiden (1 month DS) is feeding like a mad man still since last week sooo I have my hands full today... :o(

To answer elaineteresa - We cruised last September and really enjoyed it. I originally booked for last September (and for Sept 2008) because of the prices. But I would also choose Sept over Jan and Dec because of the weather. I like my water warm, I don't think I could handle the water temps in the winter (even if it is the Caribbean). The only reasons that I would cruise in Dec would be for the holiday decorations and the price (which would be pretty good reasons and I may just do that this Dec :goodvibes ).

And to agree with Tammy - I think I'm going to go crazy waiting for this cruise too!!! :hourglass :rotfl2: I'm really excited about the 2 CC stops! :beach:

Oh dear, hang in there and don't catch it yourself! Hope they get better soon. :flower3:

I wasn't sure if you mean me, Sharon (Colorado) or the Sharon (Canada) re: September cruises. Last year our family went on our first Disney Cruise but that was in October, Western Carribean. The weather was wonderful.:cool2: It only rained once, the morning we were to visit Castaway Cay.:scared1: I was worried but the sun came out before we docked.:cool1: Can't wait to see CC again X 2:dance3:

The only other cruise I've been on was in July 1991 for our honeymoon. That was eastern Carribean and it was too hot and humid for us "dry heat" Coloradoans. I definitely would choose Fall over the Summer for Bahamas/Carribean cruises even if it is during hurricane season. We didn't get insurance for our 10/06 cruise so I'm glad everything worked out okay. I am planning on getting insurance for this cruise though.

Congratulations - 2 new babies!!! I am a twin mom - you will almost be the same - lol. Get your rest now before your new daughter arrives.

We look forward to meeting the girls while on board. WELCOME!!

I can't believe we're over 400 posts already!! Elaine, I just went back to see your posts on this thread. I see your twins are a boy and a girl 6 years old right? My twins are a little older - 14 and identical boys. We have another son whose birthday is today, he's 13. It's almost like having triplets.:dance3:
We'll be leaving our teenager's home for this cruise though:woohoo: just DH and me.

I was just looking at the disney site and they let you pick rooms and it seemed there weren't as many as I would have though some cat. only had 5 or 6 rooms left. I did not look at suites tough. I wouldn't want to torture myself!
