Special 5 night Bahamas 9/1/08 Are you going?

Sorry, I am a newbie, and I guess I posted to the wrong thread. Just booked the 9-1-08 cruise. Will be my first Disney Cruise and I can't wait!! You seasoned veterans will have to help show me the way!!!

Hi everyone! We just booked this cruise when we found out it was a double dip! We are Judy, Kevin (DIS user kdonnel), Emily (8 at cruise) and Mitchell (5). This will be our 3rd cruise on Disney and we booked a guarantee Cat. 12 and have no idea of our stateroom number yet. Two days at Vero sounds wonderful since we are driving to the port so it is something for us to check into!

I've read some of the posts but have a lot of catching up to do! I'm excited to be here!

It used to be much more reasonable to use points to cruise. But it seems every year that they go up. We used points for our first 3 cruises, since then we have just paid.

We know some people who purchased points Back in the Begining.
at about $49.00 per point.

They call those point there cruise points.
the other points the have added on over time and cost more per point.
they use them for room stays..

Hello and Hello. Just the other day Janet and I transferred our 9/15/07 ressies to this cruise. The plan is to do the East Bound repo and just continue on. That's three times to Castaway in one week. I really like the sounds of that. Not planning to do much but lay on the beach.

It will be just Janet and I. Have taken the grand kids in the past. I know I will miss them and they are not happy but Mom doesn't want them taken out of school. We took them out of the first week of school for several years without problem when they were younger. They are now 13 and 10. It makes a difference now. The expectations are higher for each of them.

We are really looking forward to getting to know every one over the next lifetime. Oh I guess it really is only about 18 months. Since I have three threads to try to keep up with I will only be able to drop in once in a while. I will do my best to stay caught up. Lois

Our DD will be 8 at cruise time, too! If you're up for it, maybe we can get them emailing or snail mailing as it gets closer. We did this on our first cruise this past September and DD6 had instant friends when she boarded.

That sounds like a really neat idea. She was excited when I told her I already knew of another 8 year old girl who was going to be on the ship.

Most of ours were $51. I still just hate to use them anymore for the cruises.

We are so looking forward to it. But I imagine that we will all be doing a lot of on the Magic. And I am definetly packing all of our suitcases into larger ones. No telling what I will come home with.

We have used them for cruises in the past. Won't on the 14 day eastern med repo.
I don't think they ever discount on the points for the cruise. So once they post the points chart for a cruise, I think it stays that way.
Where on the 14 day, they gave us a reduced rate for onboard booking and then at final payment time, it was reduced again.

Excellent! I'm sure they're going to have a blast. (One more thing, I am trying my hardest to have my friend Tammy take this cruise with us, too. (She was with us on the Wonder in Sept.) She has two boys, one will be 4 and the other just shy of 6! I'm sure they'd love meeting your DS!) She's not on the DIS but I will be sure to keep you posted if she books!

I still haven't said anything to Hazel yet about the 5 day cruise, I finally was able to discuss it with my mom today so she knows what is going on. Still haven't decided when I'm planning on letting Hazel in on the secret.

We will be switcing cabins as well Tarcy. I wonder if we can take our luggage to our new cabin before breakfast after the previous guests leave?

That was great that it was reduced again! They do let DVC members call withind 3 days of arriving home to get a discount on a future cruise. If I remeber it was anywhere from 14-20 points each.

I am sure that we will be changing also. I only have 10 GTY for EB and I have a cat 10 room already for this one. it would be nice if DCL did some
for us. But I am not counting on it. But it would be great not to have to pack up and keeping the same stateroom host or hostess.
