I think they were just doing a test today of how the Dis would react if all the long threads were taken off -- this happened to the 2008 EB repo thread I am on. However, we were told that it was just temporary, so your thread might be back tomorrow.

Also, for you guys doing a pre-cruise stay, where are you all staying? We need to call DVC and get going, but Tim wants to stay at BWV, BCV or....well he wants to stay anywhere but SSR for this trip. I love SSR though!

We are going to stay at the Hampton Inn cocoa beach pre cruise for the 9/1/08. We have never stayed there but the pictures /reviews looked nice and we have tons of Hilton honors points so it would be free. We usually stay at WDW before and after cruises, but not this year, our oldest is in highschool now so missing 4 days for the cruise is all we can do, so no WDW on this trip
Anyone stayed at the Hampton Inn Cocoa beach and have any tips or comments? We have beach view reserved suite for 6, (we are a family of 5).

Joy we have stayed at the Hampton Inn in Cocoa Beach a few times...the last time was in 2004. When we stayed there, they allowed you to leave your car in their parking lot if you were using one of the shuttle services to the port. We used Art's Shuttle and it was like $3 each, each way.

BTW....the hotel itself is not on the beach and your beach view will probably be a corner view from your balcony.....

I did see that but I figured that they would not resurrect our cruise thread since our cruise was over 2 years ago....more current cruises I can see them re-instating.

Well, that will be too bad if it is true . . . the old thread should at least be archived somewhere so that you could go back and reference something. If the Disboards became more of just a question and answer forum and less of a social forum for those who want to know fellow cruisers, I think the traffic on the boards would go way down -- and the advertisers would find fewer hits from those on the boards as well.

I hope you get your thread back in some form.

Ah, yes...you lucky girl! Birthdays are best on the Magic, I would imagine ! I am making sure we get out to WDW on the 26th so we can be in the parks for mine!

Well I should clairafy, we will be at DL the weekend before, doing the 1/2 marathon. You will recognize us at the Port as well will be wearing medals LOL!!!

OMG, so sorry for going MIA for awhile. We've had a number of family crises (from yuck to yay) and I haven't had a thought to spare. And, wow, do you miss a lot if you don't check the board!

So, welcome to all the new cruisers (there are some amazing folks on this cruise). Congrats to Scott, Lynn, Jenn, Peter, and Leslie and Joe (I absolutely cracked up when I saw the sonogram pic w/the ears....sooooo cute, as is Master Michael). Hope Maisie is doing well. And will try to do a better job keeping up (whew).

We'll be staying at the AKV the night before the cruise-our first trip "home" since we bought DVC last year. Can't wait!! Oh, yes, and bring on the mojitos!
