Special 5 night Bahamas 9/1/08 Are you going?

First off Tracy, Kevin and I are praying for your family. If there is anything we can do, please don't hesitate. I will gladly join the Oprah rally if someone points me in the right direction. I listen to the Gayle King show on Oprah's channel on XM radio, maybe we could e-mail or call Gayle, just a thought.


OK, big news, Kevin has to have serious hernia surgery that is going to put us out of work for 4-6weeks. He cannot have it laproscopically because the tear is to big. We have cancelled our September vacation with the whole family (thank god for trip insurance) and will be going in for the surgery early next week. We have to turn in our truck to the company and Kevin will utilize the short term disability he signed up for just last year at my urging that he SWORE he'd never need. Thank god for that too!

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he is VERY depressed about "letting the kids down". They totally understand having to cancel vacation, but he HATES feeling that he has let them down in any way.

He will be having the surgery at the first of next week, and will be in the hospital 2-3 days. I will be playing NurseyPoo so wish me luck!

Lots of pixie dust to Kevin for a successful surgery and speedy recovery. He's not letting the kids down, they will understand. I'm sure you'll be able to take them again just with a little delay.

Cyndi....so sorry to hear about Kevin's surgery....sending for a speedy recovery....make sure he follows the doctor's order's to a "T"...I know my brother hasn't and is paying the price. That's too bad about having to cancel your family vacation...maybe you could bring them all along on the 5night next year!!!!!!! You are right...thank goodness for trip insurance and disability insurance. Please keep us updated.

Hi! I've been lurking on and off on this thread since we got back from our 3 day at the end of May. It has taken THAT long to get through all of the posts. This seems like such a great group of people and I'm really happy that there are so many of you out there!

The 3 day was our "test" cruise and while on board we booked this one. It will be 4 of us...Cathy-me, Ray DH and two DD. DD#1 Sara is 13 and has Downs (the reason for our "test" cruise) , DD#2 Hope is 10. They will be 14 and 11 at the time of the cruise. I'm not sure who it is but someone else out there posted that their DD is also 13 with DS and had great treatment on the ship. I'm glad to say that DD was also treated amazingly well.

We're in cabin 8014 and would be more than willing to be on the tour but I don't have enough posts to PM anyone. While I'm at it, sign us up for the jammie breakfast.

This time around we have late dining. It seemed as if we had to do too much rushing around to get to dinner on time. It was hard to get the girls out of the pool.

I'd really love to sign up my DH for the grass skirt meet but I don't think I'll have much luck with a grass skirt. I may have to smuggle it in and "surprise" him with it on deck. Getting him to leave the cabin in his jammies may just push him over the edge!

Looking forward to getting to know all of you before and on the cruise!

Yes, Cathy our daughter Lindsay will be 13 at the time of cruising. You are in for an amazing time. We will be easy to pick out amongst the crowd. We will have the two little girls with the big smiles on their faces!

We just got back from a 50's concert with our local Grease Band. + fireworks It was so strange to see these guys I sang with in High School (30 years ago!!! ) now singing for a living... and doing a super job. Gee! Where does that time go!

The fireworks were great too, as was the traffic jam which followed!

Kentucky Fried Chicken sounds yummy!!!
