Did anyone else notice the use of the LED Christmas lights?

I did not care for the lights on the WL tree since they went 'green' (did not visit any other resort trees to see what they all had). They give out a harsh, grayish tinge to them. The tree in the VWL atrium had the old fashioned incandescent ones though, but will probably be switched over next year (my guess).

The Osborne Family lights had a lot of LED, but they are colored. Actually, I think I like the colored ones in LED a little more because they are nice and bright.

I can't blame Disney for switching over though. They are much more energy efficient. But I can't imagine how much they had to spend to switch. Those lights are expensive!

Hopefully by next year they will all be changed. With the amount of energy WDW uses it is terrific they are changing!

We took the Backstage Magic tour last August and got to see the Christmas shop where they were very busy putting together trees for around WDW. They noted that all of the lights were being switched to new LED's. Not only do they use a ton less electricity, they also do not burn out or need replacing as often.

I agree that the quality of light takes a bit of getting used to, but the environmental impact makes it so worthwhile IMHO.:goodvibes

Yes, I believe by next Christmas (2008) they will all be LED.
I was surprised how many places had them this year.
And I agree, it is a good thing to do. We bought 300 C7 LED lights for Christmas. Sam's Club had them and they were a good price, but I see how much other places charge for them (lots!). I'm sure WDW got them at a great deal!
