Alot of people bash "Titanic", but it's still one of my very favorite movies ever. I loved everything about it.:D

It was OK...but I hear the sequel will be better

It was well done, but I will always like the version with Clifton Web and Barbara Stanwick the best.

I have mixed feelings about the movie. I'd give it an A for stunning imagery and some very fine acting on the part of Kate Winslett, who never disappoints. I'd give it a D for the "Love Boat" sinks plotline, so trite and obvious.

For ship sinking tragedies, I much prefer The Poseidan Adventure.

Ugh, my mother dragged me to see this with her, after I vowed to NEVER see it! I really didn't enjoy it, at all.

I'm with Snoopy - loved the visual effects. Very glad I went to it at the theatre to see it. The plot was a B romance at best, I laughed at the gym room scene when he asks if she loves him. In contrast I think the minor characters had the best scenes. The woman tucking her children into bed was very moving.

I agree!

By the time I finally saw The Titanic, I had heard so much about it that I was very disappointed. Everyone raved and raved and I just thought it was so-so.

Loved it when I first saw it at the theater, but it doesn't seem to be "aging" well. The plot is almost laughable now. We found ourselves wishing she'd push Jack off the iceberg at the end.:earseek:

I loved it! Went to see it 4 times and then had to buy it when it came out. :D

I liked it up until she threw the necklace away. Yikes! Her grandaughter would have loved to preserve it for her, don't you think?!?!?!

DH and I were the only ones laughing and cheering when Leo slipped under!

We were sitting behind some high school girls who were either crying or sighing the entire movie. We sure had fun imitating them!:teeth:

I did not cry when Leo died. For some reason I always tear up when she blows the whistle and they "find" her.

I am vying for the title of "Last Person in America to See Titanic"

I haven't seen it and really have no interest in seeing it. I already know how it ends(LOL).

I did read the book "A Night to Remember" about the sinking of the Titanic and I really liked it a lot.

Titanic is one of my very favorite movies. I love the imagery and symbolism, and Kate Winslet was fantastic. I cried my eyes out at the two back to back scenes where the older couple is holding each other in bed while the water rushes in and the mom tucks her children into bed. Those moved me much more than the death of Jack. I also loved the spunk of the older lady who played Rose as an elderly woman. I'll even admit that I thoroughly enjoyed the romance plot--I thought it added something to the story that was very special.
