Airfare from Boise to Orlando via Denver went down from $559.50 to $424.00. Now I know this sounds pretty good, BUT I went to DIS-Con the same way for $250.00. I think I'll wait it out, what do you think? :)

I really dont understand airfair costs - its seams that they change daily, its all hit and miss:( . My airfair cost was going to be about £350-£450 but then this one became available for £224 - too good to miss.

Keep trying:bounce:

I have been checking the airfare to Orlando on a fairly regular basis. Since we live within 100 miles of 3 airports, I routinely price flights from all three. The most amazing thing that I've found so far is that to fly directly from Pittsburgh to Orlando on USAirways, the cost is $199 per person. If you fly from Akron (Ohio), you end up flying through Pittsburgh and you actually sit on the same direct flight that I quoted earlier. Only it's $194 per person!!! So it's $5 less to fly on the exact same aircraft if you make a connection from Akron. Go figure.

For business, a lot of guys have been flying to Philadelphia recently. The average airfare from Cleveland or Akron to Philly is around $1000. But if you drive to Pittsburgh and fly from there to Philadelphia, the cost drops to $180. What's up with that??? In this case, you pay an $820 premium to fly from Akron to Pittsburgh just to get on the same plane from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia. I will never understand the airlines.

hmmmmmmmm..........sounds like they really don't want "those Ohio folks" flying into Pennsylvania!:D :smooth:

LOL Corinne. But to tell the truth, that IS how it sounds. John, that is just 'coo-coo'.

I think I'm going to wait a while.....I think it will come down a bit. Maybe not as good as last year, but better than $400.00. :::crossing fingers:::

LOL John. :D I meant the price differences were coo-coo....not you! :p

Last year I got a round trip airfare from Hartford, CT to Orlando for $80/ea, and I booked that BEFORE the Sept. 11 attacks! I can only hope to come close to that price this year! I keep checking hopefully!

I'm keeping an eye on flights, too. I have a fare tracker watching for me, too. I just took a flight from Philly to MCO for $150.00. But the drive to Philly Airport just plain stinks. I'm going back to flying out of Allentown. It may cost me a little more and I'll have to take a connecting flight, but the drive is so much easier. I just checked last night and the best I got was $221.00, with a connection in either Pittsburgh or Charlotte. I also don't want to get my flight before the official announcement, as we don't know if they're adding a day, for sure, yet. I think I'll wait until we get the registration announcement. :)

Good plan Barb. I bought my tickets early for DIScon 2001. When I decided to add a day so that I could attend MVMCP, I got zinged for $100 for reticketing. Ouch!!! But it was worth it. I just purchased tickets last night for Sue's October cruise. I managed to get three adult fares from Columbus to Orlando for $500. I'll never understand airline ticket prices (I said that earlier, didn't I). At the same time as I was checking for flights for Sue, I looked into a November flight for our other 3-day cruise. I checked 4 airports and couldn't find a decent fare from any of them. I haven't even begun to look for DIScon 2002 flights. I may end up driving down so that I can have a little more flexibility on my return. Who knows. Maybe I'll hitch a ride with Beverly Lynn and Leota. :)

Hey Tia,

If you haven't already, you might want to register with Travelocity.com. You can set it up so they will notify you when airfares go up or down by a certain amount between Boise and Orlando. Right now they're pricing Denver to Orlando at about $187 round trip, which isn't half bad.....

Good idea Steve. :) Thanks. :) I like flying through Denver rather than Chicago, so it costs a tad more.

Dan, I know you're right. But my 'control freakishness' just takes over sometimes.

;)

Hey, I like Lady M's quote......so true. :) Very special. :)

I have an airline reservation on hold - using frequent-flier miles. However, if I can get a cheap Priceline airfare from my home airport, I'd rather save the miles for a more expensive trip. In fact, I just put in a Priceline bid for Dis-Con airfare a moment ago! :D

***My Priceline bid was rejected - but I still have 8 months in which to keep trying! :)

what website do everyone check??
i seem to go for NWA.com and then give up..
